So you think TCU and Okie light are worse than Iowa and Ohio????? Pretty equivalent teams I'd say.Minus Oklahoma, we started playing worse teams.

I never heard one person saying he should be fired. I heard several people saying he's lost the program.
When people say the rot has set in and we are told it is time to move on from Campbell and that Campbell’s time has passed, are they not saying that Campbell should be fired?
They said it. There is a whole thread.
Three terrible teams , UNI TCU and OSU.Admittedly I've been pretty down and vocal about Campbell. At times just disgusted how he's screwed the pooch starting with 2021 season and all that talent. I fuc*ing HATE losing to the fuc*eyes. OK that aside...
This team has changed for the better since Iowa and Ohio losses.
Have we finally seen a change in him allowing the offense to open up more?
Did the Hot Seat comments light a fire?
Have practices been more intense?
Did Pollard have a sit down with him?
Discuss.
At the very least they're saying Jamie needs to start the coaching search. To me, it's clear that Iowa State has made strides since the coach Mac days. No one would be complaining about being 2-1 in conference or even losing a close road game to Ohio. That's who we were. I hope Jamie is smarter than our average fan (on those threads). I'm with the 2 guys named Chris - we need to stick with CMC, this is similar to Ferentz's 8th year. He's growing as a coach and we're not going to have more success with a different head coach anytime soon.

Yes, it was one of my gripes early in the season and part of the reason I saw our offensive line, especially the tight ends, were doing so poorly at the beginning. During the UNI and Iowa games, I especially noticed our tight ends looking at their wrists, trying to figure out what play was going on. More than a couple of times, our tight ends were still looking at their wrists when the play was snapped, then whiffed on a block. They’ve had those before Ohio.
#75 has whiffed on blocks all year and really struggles on most plays. I was hoping that some relief was coming with Remsburg coming back, but it sounds like he is hurt (He seems to get hurt a lot). If we can get better play from our LT spot, look out!Watch #75
Uhh, last year? When haven’t we looked better in conference play? Nothing changed this year.
There's another, more direct thread/poll asking if they want Campbell gone:When people say the rot has set in and we are told it is time to move on from Campbell and that Campbell’s time has passed, are they not saying that Campbell should be fired?

Suprised Neal is still starting, he's been bad the whole year. I can't believe there isn't anyone else to play LT who will at least put their hands on someone. I feel like he whiffs on the majority of run plays.Watch #75
There was a mostly meaningless play in garbage time that dropped my jaw against TCU. It was a power run to the left with 2 pulling guards. Watching the video, the guards were 100% in sync. It was a thing of beauty that I haven't (ever?) seen Iowa State do. That single play has me super excited for the future of run blocking with Clanton as our coach. I'll see if I can post the video. It's something you see all the time from Iowa, OU, Bama, etc. but it clearly takes reps and good coaching to do it well.
It's to get the LBs to hesitate. They don't have to flow, just be slowed down a half step. That half step improves angles for everyone. And it looks goofy, but doing a full 270 is more efficient than turning 90 deg one way then going 180 the other direction. Plus you get a better sell on the fake because you can't "short" spinning all the way around. If you don't square your body enough to the right before going left, the LBs won't bite as hard.Forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but why are the linemen "twirling" (i.e. turning their back to the line of scrimmage) seems like wasted motion and complicated footwork - for what purpose? They don't really "sell" pulling to the right before doubling back left and it appears that, at best, it gets the linebackers to pause/react, but not really "flow" opposite the play side. Don't mean this comment as a critique, I genuinely don't understand the intent.
I thought Neal actually played much better against TCU. Sama's long run was in part do to his combination block and he had key blocks on a couple of Sanders' long runs. Early in the year he struggled, but he seems to be getting better. He is athletic for his size, I'm sure that is why the staff is trying to get him to grow into that spot.Suprised Neal is still starting, he's been bad the whole year. The Fiesta Bowl Champ, does what the **** he wants to.Matt had a few too many Clonefests and challenged Jamie to a wrestling match. Must have been the motivation this team needed
