Let's say you were able to complete a major task in 10 hours, but your peers averaged 18 hours to complete the same task. Shouldn't the employee who routinely outperforms their peers be compensated better? But a union doesn't give such an incentive. Each employee would be paid the same regardless how well they performedI think "working hard" is a dumb concept. Now "working smart" on the other hand I can get behind.
You pay me to do certain duties, those are the duties I will perform and do well. if you want or expect me to do other duties then you need to compensate me for that.
