Principal Financial-Remote work

No we don’t.

How does having all remote workers pump up the downtown?

EDiT: Also, so being 50% WFH is fine according to what you posted but 60% is not? That one day every other week is your issue?

Boy, you ask a lot of question for never answering any. How does this incentivize development since you disagree?

Both of your questions are confusing, I never stated or implied either opinion you're projecting onto me.

Not on the same topic as WFH, but I personally would not like being in a union. Union workers tend to be less motivated to go 'above and beyond'. They know they will not be rewarded financially for performing the task far better than other employees. Those employees who do work harder get frustrated that they aren't rewarded and get paid the same as the employee who scratches their a** all day.

So unions are great for workers who like to scratch their a**; not very good for hard working employees

Have info to support that?

How much more of a raise do you get for doing say........20% better than your peer? A 4% raise instead of 2%? If you're lucky? Personally, I think I'd rather throw my lot in with solidarity because I've seen enough to **** to know my solo voice won't get much response.

I just got a 17% raise this past year. In fact. in 19 years I am $90K higher per year than when I started. I highly doubt I would make this much in an union

Above and beyond? That's ******* stupid. You are paid to do your job, if the company wants you to do more "above and beyond" what your job is they can compensate you are that.
So you feel you shouldn't work hard to earn a higher raise than others, or a higher bonus. Ok. That's your viewpoint.

That's good and not at all typical unless changing companies. I don't think anyone would be forced to join a union.

No info. Just what I see in the workplace. My company has union and non union employees. Non union employees work much harder than the union employees. It makes sense when you think about it

So non-union employees like doing extra work, congrats to them.

I think "working hard" is a dumb concept. Now "working smart" on the other hand I can get behind.

You pay me to do certain duties, those are the duties I will perform and do well. if you want or expect me to do other duties then you need to compensate me for that.

And it could be that the presence of a union encourages the company to reward non-union employees better than it would without the union presence. So the non-union members benefit from a union. I'm actually fairly certain there's research on that but don't feel like looking it up.

I never said to complete other tasks. People should expect to be rewarded for performing their job better than their peers.
