2023 CyHawk

It's been a while, we are due to win this one at home. Five losses in a row, Steele Jantz was the last W in Ames.

I was in the front row with a bunch of people with each letter of IOWA STATE spelled out painted on our chests. I was the A in Iowa. If you remember that game it was HOT and not a cloud in the sky.

I had the letter A sunburned onto my body for almost 2 months.

If you could care less, that means you do in fact care, even if it's just a little.

How do you know his intent? Perhaps he worded it right the first time and really does care who wins the game. I know I personally could care less about who wins the game.

Commitment!!!

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers, that is what this game always comes down too. Until last year, EIU had gone what 5 or 6 games without turning the ball over to ISU, while we had at least 2 per game against them.

Their QB is not 100% healthy, their Oline does not look like it has improved a lot, so our defense should be able to keep us in the game. The EIU defense has taken a step back, which is to be expected when you lose as much talent as they did from last year's team. They lost two if not three of their starting LBers and three Dlineman. They like to think they can just plug in the next guy and nothing changes, but that is just not the case.

Like always turnovers will be the key.

Probably close and comes down to turnovers. Does CMC rely on D or trust Becht to open up the offense?
Yeah....turnovers for most games js a huge factor....for this game seems to for sure (although last year, we overcame that).

I'd imagine we will be more aggressive with defense and let Rocco get into a comfortable spot (Easton Dean short throws, run game, etc) but liked seeing some play action and attempts at deep throws yesterday and could totally see an early one as we can't miss on Noel Everytime!

Prepare to be shocked.... Iowa State's special teams won this game. Flipped the field on almost every possession...70 yard punts, long punt returns, 56 yard fgs, touch backs on kickoffs. Just one fumbled snap on a PAT. Allowed our defense to do their thing all day long.

If ISU special teams were like that last year we are probably 7 win team and the wins we did get including Iowa would’ve been more comfortable.

Surprised they went with the hook over a field goal. Maybe I'm a homer but that's real enticing to take the Clones.

Game with 2 really good defenses with both teams coming off historically poor offensive performance the game is projected to be a grind out low scoring affair. But then maybe that's what they want...
