w/ Ryan Harklau (1 hr)

The being white part is what I was referring to. I think Hansen's a more north/south runner where McCaffery is shiftier. They are both good receivers out of the backfield, but Hansen's highlights reminded me more of a guy like Steven Jackson stylistically.
Agreed, Carson is a lot longer than Christian. He's 6'2" while CMC is 5'11".

Carson Hansen. RB, 6-2, 210. Minnesota Gatorade POY.

Lots of Abu Sama mention here, rightly so. But Hark spoke strongly about Carson, as have others in earlier weeks. Just wanted to get his name into the discussion.
Still surprised the boat rower wouldn’t offer one his state’s top recruits. Unless Hansen gave Fleck the vibe that he’d never play for the slime ball.

The Hawkeyes did the same thing here with Abu Sama, must be a Big 10 ego thing.
Sometimes coaches just miss on their evalutaion. Iowa and Iowa State both passed on David Johnson. Didn't think he was good enough to play RB at the P5 level. He was a stud as a freshman at UNI too, it's not like it took him 3-4 years to develop.

Check out the catches around 0:31 and 1:20. Runs are also impressive.

Thanks much for this link. Man, this kid is impressive. His one-handed catch for a touchdown was sensational. Rugged, fast runner.

Watching Carson's style, and his body shape reminded me of Breece Hall. Maybe I'm crazy, but it's what came to mind.

I'll be honest, I find it stupid that people take the hype all that seriously. It's the same thing when CW or the guy on 247 talk about players that they've heard good things about.
Uh, key difference. Harklau has watched practices, CW and other media types are banned. Plus, Hark has lots of football knowledge, since he played at ISU.

But, hell, you guys must be right. I'm predicting 3-9. There, I feel better. How about you fellas?

I am glad you learned. Its dangerous to believe "experts" that are actually around the team. Better to go off of some random fans opinion that they post while on their couch or taking a ****

Oh boy. Please don’t tell me you’re putting that kid in the same category as Abu…

And you’re ready to anoint the LBs as “really good” when Vaughn is the only returning starter, who I love, but wasn’t even HM all big 12. The irony has no ends with you
It's OK! You can ease off. No need to get personal. And it's is OK if someone wants to post his positive opinions. It doesn't hurt anybody.

And it is OK to be nice, and still voice 'your' opinion. Kindness can replicate, and the world needs more of it.

Hark was optimistic, but did not say much about WR and was NOT optimistic about the kickers. What does that mean?

His take on STs was in stark contrast to everything else. That’s worrisome.
I seem to remember him saying there is still competition in the kicking room. He also inferred that Jace didn't have a terrible year really, if you take out the KS game. And he did mention that he thought that we have, or will always have a good kicking/punting room, as long as JJ's Dad, Jamie, a former ISU kicker) has anything to do with it (his ties and Camp, etc.).

This year I think we might try 2-3 kickers, and ultimately go with whomever does best on game day, regardless of practice. As far as Jace goes, he needs some positive game results now.

Not to mention the NFL. Harklau signed a free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars after his ISU career ended, but a case of staph infection in the preseason derailed his NFL career.

He has first hand experience knowing what an NFL guy looks like. I think he's more than qualified to get the benefit of the doubt from ALL CFers.

Apparently not.

Not to mention the NFL. I get the sense a lot of people here don't know that. He was a legitimate DT in the NFL for several years.

Apparently not.

I think he has the best perspective with being there at practice and around the program (not sure I believe all these NFL prospects are on the roster), but according to this he didn't play for long in the league.

I stand corrected. I don't know what I thought I was remembering. I'll fix it. Thank you.
