Hello

Now don't you go knocking free ice cream. That is just a tasty treat.
If you get the chance to visit the BYU Creamery or attend a game in the visitor section, request the Graham Canyon flavor, it is awesome!

Weirdness does not do it justice. Unless you’ve witnessed it or had some interactions with A&M fans, many people really don’t realize how completely off their rocker they are.
I attended the 2005 Cotton Bowl when A&M played Tennessee. The aggie fans would yell "whoop" and I would ask an aggy fan, if they were yelling "what?" She seemed offended that I had the audacity to ask what the heck they were yelling. It's almost like a cult!

So I asked this in another thread or maybe this one...what is the hatred to Utah?

Is it the 2010 thrashing or something else?
Because the University and a large portion of its fans are openly hostile towards BYU and its sponsoring institution. And their fans are beyond hostile to us, especially when we play them in SLC (Rice Eccles Stadium). They would do all sorts of ugly things to us and openly mock our faith. It (the rivalry) and their fanbase are both toxic.

Welcome aboard! Oddly I always thought BYU would be really easy to hate. But among the new schools, so far things are shaking out for me thus:

UCF: Seems really douchy but tries hard. I'll be annoyed if/when they beat us at anything
Cincy: They are our biggest direct competitor both geographically and recruiting ties. This will become a future rivalry
BYU: Pretty weird but whatever. Reminds me of TAMU. By default in my disdain for Utah (see below) I suppose I like them. I'm sure they'll grow to annoy me over time
Houston: complete and utter ambivalence. I will forget they exist
Colorado: I'm here for the spectacle they're trying out. Good to have an old conference member back and another team thats not in the south.
Arizona: I like them. I will root for them, especially in football
ASU: Douch Canoes. I hope Arizona demolishes them in FB and BB for the next decade straight.
Utah: What a bunch of pricks. Public enemy #1. And will prob come into conference and immediately be a top team. They think they're texas. I will hate them like I do Texas.
This reminded me of

I want to see this play! I'm a big fan of South Park and always get a laugh out of how they parody us, lol.

I've only really had one rough scrape with an LDS family.

Otherwise we have a wing that converted and everything seems pretty cool.

Welcome to the conference and maybe cover your eyes as you walk through the tailgate lots.

Well, I feel very confident that the skin flUtes will not be able to run their mouths be the big bad bully they think they are in their new league. It’s not just us, multiple fan bases in our league care immensely more than what they are used to in the PACwhatever and we all have no issue taking them down a peg. They are in for a really rude awakening, I’m guessing.

I saw it on their first Book of Mormon tour in Des Moines and in the program, the Church of LDS actually had an ad in there along the lines of, "If you enjoyed the musical, the book is better." Parker and Stone stated that Mormons would be cool with their musical.

It's extremely well done and of course has the South Park edge/raunchiness to it. It was my #1 musical until I saw Hamilton.

Here in Texas we serve both the jelly and cream-filled kolaches and the sausage kolaches. The sausage kolaches must be a Texas thing then?

They have them in the Des Moines suburb of Urbandale thanks to former Cyclone defensive lineman Brent “Big Play” Curvey, who was from somewhere in Texas, I think Houston. Infamous for rumbling 60 some yards on an interception return against Colorado in an epic game with a pregame stadium evacuation due to a tornado. He seemed to be watching for potential tacklers on the big screen but I think he weighed about 300 pounds. I think he also had a couple of other turnover returns for TD’s that year, one against Baylor and maybe other was Kansas?

If you make a road game in Ames, you can check out his Texas kolaches authenticity.

Welcome to the Big 12. I hope that you are able to make the trip to Ames to visit Iowa State University. It’s an awesome place. If you do make a trip to Ames you might want to consider combining the trip with a visit to Nauvoo Illinois. It’s about a 3 hour drive from Ames. Good luck with the Big 12 (16).

Don’t ever say the phrase “authentic Texas kolache” to someone from Cedar Rapids or Northeast Iowa.

Other than that, welcome aboard, you seem authentically friendly. Hope to get to both Provo and SLC someday!
I'm with you man. Admittedly I have no idea at all, but Texas Kolache has to be a nickname for a breakfast burrito or something! I have no idea how in the world the words texas or kolache can belong in the same sentences other then: Texas has no kolaches. But that is a straight up guess. Maybe my first experience with a BYU fan is they just taught me something. If that is the case then- I support you and welcome you.

Never discount the Republic's ability to make something their own.

Heck yes! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Beer brats! I served my mission to northern Utah (Ogden, of all places) and we had a transplant family from Michigan and Indiana areas who made us beer brats for dinner and it was by far one of the best sausage/hot dog/hot link/bratwurst type of foods I had ever eaten. I've been trying to duplicate the flavor by making them at home with Shiner Bock and bratwursts but boy is it an art. I LOVE salmon! My aunt up in the Olympic Peninsula/Pudget Sound area would make fresh salmon steaks from local salmon acquired from the local tribe and it was as good as any steak or prime rib as I've ever had. I'd love to stop by, hopefully we get to play y'all in Ames next year so I can make the trip!
Welp. This dude is growing on me! He is enlightening me on Texas Kolaches and informed me that they are in fact a real thing. Then he mentions Salmon from Pudget Sound. My time spent to the Pudget Sound and eating Salmon regularly was a fantast trip I will never forget a few years ago.
