I'm hoping to make it up to Utah for our game vs your cyclones in November. If anyone would like me to show you around the area or around campus or would like any recommendations. Let me know. Welcome! Hope you're a regular contributor here on CF. I'm not one to watch many games outside of Iowa State but...damn...I'm tuning into that Holy War and I will be cheering on BYU all the way. Glad you guys are a member of the conference!

Welcome aboard! Oddly I always thought BYU would be really easy to hate. But among the new schools, so far things are shaking out for me thus:

UCF: Seems really douchy but tries hard. I'll be annoyed if/when they beat us at anything
Cincy: They are our biggest direct competitor both geographically and recruiting ties. This will become a future rivalry
BYU: Pretty weird but whatever. Reminds me of TAMU. By default in my disdain for Utah (see below) I suppose I like them. I'm sure they'll grow to annoy me over time
Houston: complete and utter ambivalence. I will forget they exist
Colorado: I'm here for the spectacle they're trying out. Good to have an old conference member back and another team thats not in the south.
Arizona: I like them. I will root for them, especially in football
ASU: Douch Canoes. I hope Arizona demolishes them in FB and BB for the next decade straight.
Utah: What a bunch of pricks. Public enemy #1. And will prob come into conference and immediately be a top team. They think they're texas. I will hate them like I do Texas.

Oh, I'll add that if you sit in the visitor section for the games, they hand out free BYU Creamery ice cream to the fans of the visiting team.

I agree this. I thought for sure BYU would be the most annoying team to join the conference in multiple ways. There were multiple markings that they would be the new guy for everyone to dislike.

I'm not even Czech but on behalf of all the gd Bohemies around CR, I am triggered!

Cedar Rapids was heavily settled by Czechs, home to the Natl Cz & Slovak Museum. So kolaches are huge here. St Ludmillas has a kolach festival every year, its their annual parish shindig, and they arent even the "Czechist" church in town (St Wenceslaus).

Altho your "texas" kolaches place definitely has a Czech name in Hruska...

I'm Czech and live in one of the biggest Czech towns in the US. Kolache is a pastry with a fruit jelly it's not a Pig's in the blanket BS that some call it.

So far they seem less odd than aTm.

Those guys were just odd all the way around. From the quasi military marching band to Mason jars.

So far BYU is ice cream, lucky underwear, and a nice greeting.
