I was starting to worry about him. There he is!
He goes to LIV, makes half a billion dollars or more, and then ends up getting back in the PGA Tour anyways without having to suck Monahan's **** for 2 years?
Did you think they were going to ban players for life after going to LIV? There isn't a world where guys like DJ were going to be turned down by the PGA the moment they wanted to come back.
They passed up the money and stuck with the PGA to beat LIV, which this mostly does.
Looking at things in hindsight is always easier.Did you think they were going to ban players for life after going to LIV? There isn't a world where guys like DJ were going to be turned down by the PGA the moment they wanted to come back.

Wonder if this happens? Maybe not get the full amount they were offered but still a big amount of it:I'd be curious to know if any player who passed up the money could sue the PGA Tour. I'd be amazed if some don't try.
That had to have been the thought though, right? Otherwise why are guys like Rory, Rahm, Matsuyama, etc. passing up the money? If they always knew they'd eventually be welcomed back you'd totally have taken that money.

Full amount seems unlikely, some sort of loyalty bonus maybe.

That's the interesting part of this deal. That could happen if the PGA has full control over the $$, but I'm sure that's not what happened. I wonder how much control the PGA just gave up to take huge injection of cash and expand.
fifyThe players that stayed have to be LIVid.
I'd be curious to know if any player who passed up the money could sue the PGA Tour. I'd be amazed if some don't try.
The players that stayed have to be livid.
Bonuses for players would be great in theory, but I don’t know how you’d quantify it.“Uh, yes, Your Honor - I was an idiot when I turned down the fat LIV paycheck to stay loyal to the PGA, and went as far as calling LIV “corrupt” and labeled the players smart enough to jump “traitors bought with blood money. I demand the PGA compensate me for my loyalty by reimbursing me with the money I spat at when I stayed loyal.”
I mean, that’s effectively what they’ll be saying to the judges, right?
