Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

That’s true but I guess I usually don’t get that far to get into the live guide or use it much. I basically open the app and have CFB and CBB all show up. I’ve surrendered to the algorithm overlords and don’t have to use the live guide like some loser.

Honest question for the youths on here (as a 34 year old who regularly drives Uber/Lyft I'm constantly reminded how out of touch I've become):

Do people with Android phones use Apple TV+? As discussed above, I know anyone can get it, but as an Android guy myself I've never even given it a second thought since Apple's stuff usually only plays super well with other Apple stuff.

I only watch sports on my phone. Home television I don't really distinguish between android and Apple products. I've done AppleTV+ for a couple months in the past, but I haven't gone back since Ted Lasso season 1. It's just another app.

Really, it's no different question than do you watch YouTube on your iphone.

Yeah, I know it's just another app. Was just curious if there was much crossover from non-apple people.

Maybe it's because Apple TV was originally a physical box that was trying to compete with Chromecast. I wonder if they should have moved away from the Apple TV name?

I got an Apple TV after my fire stick crapped out and I wanted the free year of Apple+ that came with it at the time. It’s pretty much the same as any of those other devices.

Apple has some good content: Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, and Shrinking are all really good shows. I’ve never watched their MLS or MLB content though. I doubt I’d watch the PAC 12 on it either.

I watched a few of the free airings of MLB on Apple TV last summer and it was annoying as heck! The announcers were horrible! The graphics were odd. They would flash data on the screen non-stop such as "Aaron Judge's odds of getting a hit with a 2-2 count"...just way too much junk!

Plus there isn't ESPN or Fox or NBC playing hypeman for your brand.

You're stuck on a low visibility streamer with no cheerleader in the larger market.

I feel for those guys, but they are ******.
I think linear will always be a factor for the “sports bar crowd”. It’s more likely the bar will flip over to a game on linear tv for ambient noise than pull up the app and select a game. Having to find it on Apple seems like it really undercuts exposure for the PAC in a bad way… and it’s not like their stadiums are full in the first place.

Frankly I’d rather watch Nevada vs Boise or Hawaii v Wyoming after dark. Those games seem more entertaining to me than the majority of PAC games.

This guy's source is drunk. There may be two offers, but they'll be to the Arizona schools if there's a bad contract.
Or it could be the source is "leaking" false information, but to put pressure on the Arizonas that they can't wait around forever. That would be my guess, anyway.

Who on earth would be the TWO western G5 "failsafes"?? Everybody is talking SDSt, but who is the 2nd? The below is the candidates from the last go-round. Western is basically: Air Force, CSU, Ark St, Boise, New Mexico, UNLV. Pretty motley crew there. New Mexico and UNLV are probably the best of that lot. Maybe UNLV makes sense from a "Vegas baby!" standpoint and getting media attention?

The Big 12 ended up with 12 finalists for expansion in 2016: Air Force, Brigham Young, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Connecticut, Houston, Rice, South Florida, Southern Methodist, Temple and Tulane.
Other applications were received. Schools that did not make the cut were Arkansas State, Boise State, East Carolina, Memphis, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, San Diego State and Nevada-Las Vegas.

I admit it. I'm the source...

Also, I do believe the B12 would put g5 rumors out there to **** with the Pac. I hope they wouldn't actually do it.

It's just pot-stirring. Anyone within shouting distance of a decision maker at any of the PAC schools is going to have more than enough information to know "G5s to the B12" rumors are complete nonsense.

On the other hand, these kinds of rumors could be useful in getting the fanbase/public behind a conference move.

Did Northern Illinois just send a Google Maps link that showed they were kinda/sorta near Chicago?
