Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Well when you said young I was thinking under 30 not under 40, yeah I’m sure there are bunch in their mid to late 30’s that have no idea.

Do people that live in non high speed internet areas even count as a demographic that people care about or track?
I never said young, that was someone else, I responded to you saying NO young person doesnt know this.

You’re also assuming boomers are 50. Boomers are all almost 60 now. Is 50 year olds are Gen Xers and we grew up with computers so we have a clue for the most part.
Not going to start a generational war but there is a big difference in being genX and having computers exist during your lifetime and being GenZ or a young millennial who lived their entire life connected to technology.

I can tell you still look at Xers like boomers with this statement. If you are a millennial the Zers think you are like a boomer almost.

Yep just turned 35 and might as well put myself in a nursing home according to gen z. My point about tech and having it be an integral part of growing up for young millennials and gen z is still right though.

I agree. That each generation has more. Xers only had to do computer programming in high school. Not sure when my son started. We started with computers in 4-5th grade. My son did in kindergarten.

The younger generation is so technologically advanced they don't know what to keep off the internet. They get carpel tunnel from texting and don't know the language except what the computer prints for them. At least they will never be accused of talking too much. Do they know you can actually talk on phones?

I'd give it one more cycle of media deals to see how streaming shakes out before going that route. Personally, I'd love to have the Big12 go to a streaming service as that's the only reason I still have a streaming package. Even if that Big12 sports package was $20-$40 per month, I'm still way ahead of what I'm paying YouTube.tv and ESPN+. But I don't think I'm in the majority with this opinion yet.
One major difference is on a service like Hulu, a game on plus shows up just like a game on ESPN or Fox.

Agree on Hulu, it is the easiest to use and I tried them all. Can flip games similar to linear. ESPN+ is included for free with Hulu. It automatically records your favorite teams in case you can’t catch it live.

But that is only +. As CFB goes streaming services, they aren't all going to the same provider. Apple, Prime, Paramount all could have games. Someone is going to come up with a way to seamlessly flip between apps to support this next generation of TV. And they'll probably make a lot of money doing so. But until that happens, all these different platforms makes it difficult to jump from game to game. Not a big deal today with TV series and movies, but with live sports with commercials it'll be a problem.

Not exactly, at least not on Hulu Live TV. ESPN, several other ESPNs, FOX and FS1 and FS2 are all on the live TV guide, ESPN+ isn't. You have to back out of Live, go to the Hulu home, then the Sports category and then to ESPN+, where you'll toggle through live events its carrying.

You have to buy the Disney bundle to get it, $10/month.

That’s true but I guess I usually don’t get that far to get into the live guide or use it much. I basically open the app and have CFB and CBB all show up. I’ve surrendered to the algorithm overlords and don’t have to use the live guide like some loser.

More tweets that dish out PAC reality, please.

Some of this indirectly does.

The confusion that's still around streaming bubbles up on CF quite a bit.

Now move an entire conference to a streaming service that doesn't have a sports brand and has a name that could also cause confusion.

The PAC is royally ****** if they can only swing Apple as a media partner.

Out of sight, out of mind.

I love Hulu for this reason, but they really do need to listen to their customers and make their guide and customization of their guide better.
