I Said USCLA to the Big 10 months before it happened too.......when everyone told me I was crazy. You want to take me as gospel for everything because I got one right? I have no idea who Greg F, Maybe a link?
I never said that a conference that got multiple teams in the playoff would not get more. There may be a premium for more schools but not in the way you are saying. If that was the case the big 12 would just ad 4 more G5s cuz hell money.
Lastly, sure they can offer less for a few years. Look at the G5s we added I believe it is for 2 years. B1G did it for several years, but some of that was because they took loans against their payments to improve facilities etc to B1G standards. But then again the B1G has a stronger position. Several sources are not only saying that no one is jumping at the chance to join the PAC but that it sounds like several G5s have flat out said NO. Notice SDSU, SMU, Tulane etc are all not announcing they are joining, when you know that the PAC wants them and needs them, and needs some good publicity?
One more thing. The going speculation now is that the Amazon deal is $100M per year for 2 years, so $10M per team. Amazon only wants Tier 1, one game per week. And the ESPN deal is $100M per year for some Tier 2 and 3. And will give another $10M per year for more content to help pay for the $50M they owe Comcast for overpayment. So another $10M, with the extra going straight to pay off last deal. That is $20M per year per team. What no one seems to know is if this is a new deal by ESPN, or if this is the deal ESPN pulled because of the Disney restructuring. Some speculate it was the $25M number rumored before, and now is this $20M number after ESPN pulled the last offer and came back with this.
My comment on your math is in one line you put the contract at $15M, then the next you put it at $25M, by just adding SMU and SDSU. No way they almost double their value for adding those, either they are at $25M now without and stay the same or similar, those 2 schools are not going to change the value that much.
