Alec Baldwin

That’s my first thought. Trying to make a name for themselves. I don’t see any way he gets convicted of this.

The whole "didn't cooperate" thing they seem to be unhappy about could be looked at from the other direction as "he did the smart thing anytime the police are involved and lawyered up".

Yeah, and maybe that’s why the prosecutors phrased their statement they way they did? They said that there was sufficient evidence to charge him. I should hope so; if there wasn’t he couldn’t ethically be charged in the first place. I know there are rules on what prosecutors can say to the media, but I think they are allowed to say “evidence to support a conviction”

Also, thinking about it, I’m wondering if a theory of the case will be that Baldwin the producer was so negligent/reckless that it meant Baldwin the actor committed manslaughter. Because I don’t think an actor should be charged for something like this in most cases.

I think the "experts" and the actor are both responsible.
So every time any individual any actor is involved in filming a scene involving any level of danger (guns, stunts, knives, cars etc) the actor is held criminally responsible if something goes wrong?

Don’t you think responsibility lies primarily with the professional responsibility for that aspect of the production?

I think most people's opinions of him are probably based politically and I say that as in no right/wrong and 100% not trying to cave this thread.
I know others probably think that as well but maybe don't want to say/unsure how to tread on it.
I actually don't know anything about his politics. I suppose I could assume based on his occupation. My assessment is based on his off-set behavior. You know, beating people up and stuff.

I'm guessing most future prop guns will be green and they'll CGI in what they want.

For those saying the lawyer has an agenda when he said actors are not above the law, he is actually reporting what the husband of the victim is saying. If you read a couple articles it is mentioned.

Agree, I don’t care what his politics are, he comes across as a complete jackwagon and POS in what has been in the media about him.

I doubt that. This is not the first on set death involving a gun and a screw up.

The main issue on that set was the lack of safety protocols. The camera crew walked off the set the day of the accident due to safety concerns. (before it happened) the armorer asked for additional help the week before. The producers ignored their issues. Live rounds should have never been on set. The guy who handed Baldwin the gun had no business touching it and declaring it cold. (Safe). The cinematographer and the producer should have not been behind the camera and Baldwin should have been using a rubber gun for the practice shot. There were a lot of people not doing their jobs probably that led to this tragic accident but Baldwin has gone out of his way to deflect any responsibility even though he was the one with the gun in his hand.
#1 when handed a firearm assume it’s loaded until you yourself prove otherwise.
#2 never point a firearm at something you don’t was to kill or destroy.
If actor don’t know those 2 simple rules do not give them a gun.
I know children with more gun safety sense they what was exhibited on that set. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened.
