The Fran fade

Yes, out of the 67 other teams in the tournament, it just happened to be only their 2nd round opponent, 25th-ranked Oregon, that was "a bad matchup." As if they would've had no problem with the other 23 teams ranked above the Ducks.

Between the injuries disclosures afterwards and the bad matchup, they're still trying to convince people this really was a final 4 team.

Loyola looked like a team designed to beat Iowa and they weren't even ranked. Big who can hang with Garza on defense and score agains him on offense. Gaurds/wings who were much more skilled and athletic.

I think krutwig would have given Luka fits. He moves a lot better and could bang with him down low

That lost to Indiana twice. Must also have been bad matchup or they all needed surgery all year

What's your point? The Visigoths were once a powerful force in Europe for hundreds of years. Doesn't mean much today.

Fun fact: much like Hawks, the Visigoths also lost to a 7 seed. A plucky squad of Berbers who won the Caliphate tournament and were totally underseeded.
Yeah but that was pre-shot clock era.

I have a ton of Iowa friends and I would say 95% hate Fran and his kids. It's enjoyable to hear them talk Iowa basketball.

My tavern hok friends were trying to give MadFran a pass this year because they actually had a natty dancing in their heads. Now they realize they're heading back to MadFran MFer type antics and typical hok mediocrity.

They're still complaining about the NCAA screwing them by seeding Oregon too low. Talk about being contradictory. In one breath thinking they were a final 4 team, while in another breath saying Oregon was too good to be matched up with in the 2nd round. If you're so sure about going to the final 4, it shouldn't matter who you draw as the tournament progresses. Absolutely silly how they're wanting re-write history on this season. What are they going to move the goal posts to if Oregon gets blown out by USC today?
