Texas would never hire Mad Fran. Not in a million, million years. They make plenty of poor decisions, but would not make that one.

Something tells me Texas is looking for more than a 60+ year old with a career 6 tourney wins.
And who has NEVER made it past the Round of 32 and has NEVErR won a regular season or tournament conference championship. They might not care that he chases refs into locker rooms and screams "cheating mother ******" at them if he can do the upward horns, but they would not overlook the rest.
I haven’t seen him on a single two-round mock. Actually surprised me a little.

Fran is simply known for things that have little to do with winning.
Looks like Texas couldn’t get Fran, so they had to go with the next best thing in Beard.
Somehow, some way, there are Hawk fans equating their championship game appearances, and figuring Fran was on the short list for this job.
Can you imagine what Baylor's guards would have done to Iowa? Would have been illegal in 49 states.
We forget that in dream seasons where literally nothing is accomplished despite a high ranking, it's only fair to have opponents that are slow after you advance in the NCAA tournament.
Yes, out of the 67 other teams in the tournament, it just happened to be only their 2nd round opponent, 25th-ranked Oregon, that was "a bad matchup." As if they would've had no problem with the other 23 teams ranked above the Ducks.
Between the injuries disclosures afterwards and the bad matchup, they're still trying to convince people this really was a final 4 team.
