That's not a bad comparison, however I will say that Tim Tebow was far more influential to the game of college football than Garza is to the game of college basketball.

I agree. That's why I think he'll play in the NBA.
There's a 0% chance of a player as slow as Garza playing in this NBA if he can't hit outside shots. Because of that shot though I'd be surprised if he doesn't get a contract or two regardless of where he's drafted.
The days of teams carrying 2-3 huge unskilled guys to hammer away on fouls inside are gone.
He won't survive long enough for 2 contracts. He won't be able to make it up and down the court fast enough in the NBA. Shorter shot clock won't allow him to set up in the half court offense the way he does now, and there is just much faster tempo overall.
The question mark regarding Luka is not his shooting. It's his foot speed and the fact that he'd struggle tremendously in getting up and down the floor as well as play any sort of ball screen defense. If he'd ever get in a one on one situation with a good guard, it's an automatic bucket.
I think there will be nights he doesn't see the court, but other nights where I could see him getting 10-20 minutes and being a factor.
Maybe I'm wrong. I might be wrong more because I haven't watched Garza enough, it's not because I don't follow the NBA. I have a game going pretty much every day during the season for 30 years.
I just think a guy with good post offense who can drain 3s...there's still a spot for him off the bench. In the 90s he would have been a top 5 pick. I'm not saying those days are back, but I would put money on him signing a multi-year deal before I put money on him never playing in the league.
Yeah, never would be a stretch for a guy who has averaged 20+ ppg in back to back seasons. He'll make a team, the questions is how much and how long will he play? My guess is not very much or very long before he takes his game to Europe. This is a guy who is on the record stating he thinks he's above the G-League
I think the players who aren't drafted are kind of crazy to go G league route vs playing overseas. G league does make some sense for guys who are 2nd round picks because the GM often has personal interest in seeing they at least get a chance at some point.
It's crazy to me how guys who ball out in G-League still don't get much of a shot to crack an NBA roster. Shayok tore it up the year he played in it. Must not have felt like he was getting a fair shake so took his game to Europe.

Yeah, Shayok's stats were undeniable that he was a top 5 player in the G league...still somehow couldn't get minutes to show out in the league.
He also seems to have the prototype frame and skills that are sought after. Of all of our guys he's the most surprising one that somehow hasn't got his chance at real minutes. It's not like he's some tweener, he looks the part of a prototype shooting guard off the bench. Of course everyone thinks they can find a 30ppg player for their starting shooting guard.
I'm still trying to figure out why Joe doesn't get more minutes? Do you guys disagree with Gonzo?
I don't know Iowa's team well enough to know who should get Connor's minutes, but there is a clear opportunity cost to having Connor as a four year starter.
Almost any guard would get his assist numbers playing with Garza, starting his entire career, and rarely shooting the ball.
Clearly you don't know he is capable of playing less because he plays at different times.
His line is like nothing I've ever seen from a 3 year starter.
It's kind of incredible they are winning in spite of that level of nepotism.
