I wasn't sure if they were taking them to a processing plant or something.
Not much meat in a pheasant. Typically most will pop the breasts and not mess with the rest. Can spend an hour trying to get another half pound of meat off them.

We've been seeing dozens of them up here on our geocaching forays on the back roads.

See, pheasant whisperer. ;)

Although, this sorta cold snap plus snow does get them bunched up. Recall that from a previous lifetime when little Boxster used to ride in his dads truck traversing the Delaware County countryside. Of course that was also a time with lots more habitat in fence rows and untiled sloughs. There were actually some wetlands left in that county back then.

Ran into only two other peeps walking in the park this afternoon. Perfect. Cold enough to cut back on the riffraff but not too cold for me. Bum and hamstrings did get chilled the last 1/4 mile, odd, would have guessed cold feet or cold hands after four miles, but nope.

Furlough day tomorrow that I was hoping to get a lot of my MBA work done for this week but now my mom can't take LilMiss and it is looking very likely that LittleWx will have a virtual school day. The best laid plans.

Well the good thing is you get more bonding time with the kids (Silver linings and such you know).

Took the wife for a romantic valentine's lunch yesterday. The kids were with us and we were eating panda express, in the car, sitting in the parking lot of Sam's club waiting for our pick up order to get ready. I gotta admit, I still know how to woo her.

Well went to Coaches Kolaches (Brent Curvey's restaurant) today HOLY MOLEY! Those things are GOOD! I had the egg, cheese, and sausage one wow was it awesome, The pastry shell is super light and fluffy with a slightly sweet taste to the bread, my goodness that will be a place to stop back if in the area.

Small pheasant trivia, pheasants spend nearly their whole life on the ground. They prefer not to fly and only do as a reason to flee.

I think it's the same with grouse, quail, and turkeys...turkeys are horrible at flying compared to pheasants.

Owls might be my favorite bird to watch when they fly. Never a sound and their ability to get through thick trees is remarkable.
