The Fran fade

I'm still curious how you can elbow someone in a face and not be flagarent? If you have your elbows out 5-6 foot in the air, that is not a normal going after the ball approach. It is a usual shove someone out of the way approach. Not going to say he was going for the head, but he was trying to keep the MN guy away from the ball. It's not a natural motion to be swinging that high for a diving ball.

All Iowa/Iowa State team

Frederick
Bolton
Weiskamp
Young/Foster
Garza

Coach: Prohm
Don’t disagree with starters. Disagree with coach. We should also start adding a list of three guys as next men in. I’d propose Foster, Joe T, and Murray as the “next men in”.

Serious question: who will end the season ranked higher, Iowa FB or BB?

Give me the coach with two major conference titles and a Sweet 16 over Fran fade

Early season success for Iowa BB is fools gold most years. They have roster continuity with a bunch of 3,4, and 5 year players. That's what makes them unique in today's game. Individually they aren't that great but together they are good, especially early in the season. They have been playing together for years while most teams are just trying to figure things out. Once teams figure things out in February, Iowa fades. There is more talent than normal on this year's Iowa team, but there are still many glaring holes on this roster. They have enough talent to beat most anyone, especially early in the season. As we move closer to March though, the roster issues and coaching deficiencies will get exposed regularly.

Just from what little attention I have given it, the entire B1G seems to have been mostly overrated pre-season. Not just Iowa. But I'm still in football mode, so maybe I have the wrong impression?
