Honestly, they can keep giving our guys bulletin board material for all I care.
Time to go out of Saturday and prove them all wrong.
Lots of bashing on the Paul Finebaum Show today too led by AAC Commissioner Aresco. The media is freaking out over the chance that the blue bloods will not make up the final four. Reece Davis, then the Dan Patrick show today. Do any of these guys remember that if it isn't OU or Texas the Big 12 gets left out? TCU, Baylor in 2015. Having to win your conference to be in a 4 team playoff would stop a lot of the ********. Play your way in.
The Bear uses facts not emotion. The Bear knows.Lots of bashing on the Paul Finebaum Show today too led by AAC Commissioner Aresco.
While I do think the CFP Committee concept is flawed in many ways, I do appreciate how they see past the name on the Iowa State uniforms. This is with only one Big Xii rep, and he is a Sooner (Castiglione). I also appreciate Barta giving ISU legitimate props the last 3 Tuesday nights. And the "Bear". Let's not ever forget the "Bear"!
Let's Go State! Beat the Sooners, AGAIN!
Do I think we are the 6th best team in the nation, Nope. But I think we are playing good football right now and are a very dangerous team. We will not make the playoff, but if we defeat OU for the second time this season, there really should be no reason to keep us out, and put OSU in. Sorry, in the past the committee talked about the importance's of data points, and the idea that TCU had one less than OSU. Well if we win on Saturday we would be 9-2, to OSU's 6-0. Giving ISU 5 more data points than the Buckeye's.
If we start going by their recruiting star ranking, and the "eye ball" test, then really what is the point of playing the games at all? Every year we can just televise the Alabama invitational playoff and put OSU, Alabama and Clemson in before they play a game, with another team to be named later.
Also getting tired of the national media and EIU fans telling everyone that we were blown out by Louisiana, they get that opinion by only looking at the final score or watching the final drive by them.
In that game we had a Kickoff returned for a TD against us, a punt returned for a TD against us, a short field on an INT against us and long touchdown pass for a TD. Louisiana had ONE great drive at the end of the game. At halftime they had less than 100 yards of offense and were be dominated by our defense. If you look at the yards gained, we outgained them. We lost on special teams, and turnovers. Sometimes the final score does not indicate how good a game it was. Same thing with the TCU game, we won by 3, but TCU scored a touchdown on the last play of the game, at no time in the second half was ISU in danger of losing the game.
Perception is everything, and people are trying to frame ISU as they just got lucky a few times, instead of being a really solid team, that had ONE horrible performance to start the season, and loss by 3 to Ok. State on the road when they were ranked #6 in the country.
Yeah, Barta has been very complimentary to ISU and sticking up for us against Rece. Glad he is being a true professional in his role while not allowing his other job as athletic director of Iowa influence his message.Lots of bashing on the Paul Finebaum Show today too led by AAC Commissioner Aresco.

I wonder if they play clips of the teams,Barta sees the black uniforms and thinks he’s talking about Iowa.Yeah, Barta has been very complimentary to ISU and sticking up for us against Rece. Why don't you think we are the 6th best team?
After watching every minute of every game we still make silly mistakes, though that is getting fewer and fewer. Against the better teams we played we started in a hole and had to fight our way back up, UT, OU to name a few.
Purdy has played great the last 3.5 games, before that, he was shaky as hell. We seem to want to set up Hall to start every game, and teams are just laying for it. How about Saturday we fake the ball to Hall and have Purdy fly around the corner a few times, and then start feeding Hall after their back side defense has to stay at home.
The only way that we defeat the top four teams is we play without any mistakes and they play poorly. I am not even sure that would matter against Alabama, they are just a machine, and will win the championship easily, unless they repeatedly turn the ball over, talking like 4 or 5 times, not a couple.
We are a VERY good team, but the gap between us and the top 3 or 4 teams is huge.
Do you think we are the 6th best team in the country? It just seems that we struggle too often, and win games by to close of a margin to be rated that high. Look at UT, OU and a couple of others. To me the 6th ranked team should be laying the wood to teams, like we did to WV and KSU. We are having the type of season EIU had in 2015, keep on winning, beating good but not great teams, and keep moving up in the rankings. We caught OU early in the season, UT have been up and down all year, sometimes a team needs a few breaks along the way. Last year, the ball bounced the other way and we had a lot of close loses, this year its bouncing our way.I don’t think you answered my question. I asked why you didn’t think we were 6. Not why the top 4 would beat us.
Check out Texas A &Ms scores. Now Ohio States. Yeah, we are laying the lumber just like they are if not more. We are very well a top 6 team.Do you think we are the 6th best team in the country? We have had a great season, but Saturday Vegas has us as a 7 point underdog to OU. Can we win, sure we are playing very well, but no way in hell would I bet more than a few bucks on the outcome.
Just look at the number of 4 and 5 star players on those teams, and then compare them to us. Stars are not the be all and end all, but they do make a difference. There is a reason why the teams with the best recruiting classes continue to be at the top of the league year after year, and why teams like us, have that shining moment every now and then.Check out Texas A &Ms scores. Texas A&M quarterback is garbage. I would put money on ISU all day long.Just look at the number of 4 and 5 star players on those teams, and then compare them to us. Would you wager ISU vs aTm on a neutral field, not sure I would.
I would feel we are a 50/50 with A&M. Same with OSU. The top 3 I think we are unlikely to win, but there is always a chance. We keep winning and 4 star players will be more common for us. We used to have a mix of 2s and 3s. Now we don’t really see 2s outside of walk ons.Just look at the number of 4 and 5 star players on those teams, and then compare them to us. This. A&M and Ohio st I think we stick in there, leave it and let it soak.I would agree with you on Bama, ND, and Clemson. A&M and OSU I wouldn't be scared of at all.
