Yep....Doyle knew his time would be over, but his attorney knew hard to "prove" racism and Iowa figured cheaper (both in PR and legal battle) to just pay out and move on. Doyle can move forward with the narrative of "I didn't do it, but decided to move on" and Iowa can have the "we heard the problems and moved him along"

Bohannon can have whatever opinion he wants. I’ve already discussed the logistics of the Doyle situation. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows the buyout was Iowa’s only option.

So Barta largely admits this is hush money. With Doyle's contract up July 1st, there was NO buyout necessary. The only logical reason to them give away $1.1 million is to buy somebody's silence.

This was basically another made-up award for Doyle, this time for Iowa Football MVR (Most Visible Racist).

It's clear that Kirk and Iowa Football are going "all in" on "doing better" moving forward with little/no acknowledgment that Kirk IS the culture....as is his son.

In terms of this situation the rhabdo stuff came up from a Doyle perspective, but I've not seen anyone bring up the past of Kirk's son living in low-income housing...which is surprising as that also could make many folks frustrated from an access to affordable housing for underrepresented folks. (and yes, I want it to be piled on their program)

Great point......could have not renewed and moved on. This could be the way to save a lot of future PR issues (and likely preserve Brian...as Doyle can't chirp).
