Iowa Football Recruiting

If you are suggesting playing ND is > than Memphis, then duh. But we were literally told this week or last that playing Memphis for our bowl games was below average

Playing Memphis in a bowl game is below average. It isn't a knock on ISU, they don't control their opponent, but honestly there is zero upside playing a non P5 in a bowl game.

Iowa State played a much more difficult schedule than Iowa last year and the Big 12/SEC are the clear two best leagues in CFB. That's not an opinion

It isn't a coincidence that this comes from the same source. If you broaden past one source, then clearly Iowa played a more difficult schedule according to the majority of BCS bowl SOS metrics.

No there wasn't. Hence the top 5 schedule in all of the country
you had 6 wins over non bowl teams and 6 losses to bowl teams. That is a clear definition of a mediocre season. Congratulations on all of the quality Ls. If it makes you feel better I think you might have been the best 6 loss team in the country.

Still can't believe Iowa nabbed such a highly talented and productive grad transfer. What a huge get.

It's funny you think all non bowl teams are created equal

isu goes 7-6 with Iowa’s schedule according to Sagarin. Iowa still goes 10-3 with isu’s schedule.

Good thing clone fans cry about SOS.

LOL, you want to beat your chest over beating non bowl teams. Iowa has lost 1 game to a non bowl team over the last 5 years. If you are losing multiple games to non bowl teams, then you are also a non bowl team.

You realize isu would have been 4th at best in the Big Ten West. At least according to the AP and you go to Sagarin.

Didn’t see a post from @CyTwins in response to this so I wanted to make sure he saw it. According to AP, your go to metric for judging teams, ISU finishes 4th in the ultra weak B1G West. Behind Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. And, again according to AP, your beloved and sole metric for determining which team is better, Iowa finishes third in the Big 12, behind Oklahoma and Baylor.

I’ll admit that the bottom of the B1G last year was bad. Especially Rutgers, Maryland, and Northwester. However, the Big 12 had nothing outside Oklahoma and Baylor.

It’s amazing how, despite all the hype promoted on this board, despite consistently being judged with better players, ISU cannot come close to the success of Iowa, and, in fact, struggles to be judged mediocre.

And don’t forget that they are all worse than a 6-6 Sun Belt team who went to the Beef O’Brady Bowl.

I get why Twins does it, but do you really want to beat your chest when you beat teams you should beat 90% of the time? Maybe it is because ISU has been so bad for so long, but I would think that after you get used to being a bowl team after awhile you will begin to understand that you are a bowl team because you nearly always beat the non bowl teams you play.
