Iowa Football Recruiting

Maro might get that Iowa offer he wants if Alt goes to Notre Dame.

The Iowa staff feels like Alt has tons more upside than Maro. You are right though, when you can't get your top choices, you have to move down your list to the next tier of guys. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and Iowa can still get Alt over the blue bloods.

Some of the non P5 games include BYU, Notre Dame, and Memphis. Decent opponents regardless of conference affiliation.
So Memphis is a decent opponent for non conference but when you have to face them for a bowl game while they are ranked and playing in their home stadium it’s not good? Got it.

There is a reason ISU fan were excited about playing ND, and it is because of their name. I'd say Memphis was a quality opponent, but I think you would be dishonest if you said they were anything other than a middle of the pack team in a P5 conference.

Yep a lot of NFL execs laughed at the thought of drafting Lazard.

If you are suggesting playing ND is > than Memphis, then duh. But we were literally told this week or last that playing Memphis for our bowl games was below average

Yikes if someone said that. Penn State just played them (their defense forgot to show up) in the Cotton.

Memphis would contend in the Big Ten/Pac 12 every year

Same with the Big 12, the AP one of your go to’s says so.

Question did Memphis compete with Penn State in the Cotton Bowl? Looked like a blowout to me.

How would they not? They were great great under Norvell

Memphis would have been the 4th best team in either division in the Big Ten, but would have been the 4th best team overall in the Big XII. Much clearer path to contending for a conference title in the Big XII than in the Big Ten.
