Iowa Football Recruiting

You're using a jokey Sagarin index.

But it sure helps when you get two games outside the weaker Big 12 against final top 15 teams.

The instate game does us no favors. You got a top 15 team while we got #28 at best.

If you don't use Sagarin for SOS what do you use?

Since you bring up basketball and after reading Brodie aka Benji's posts about his national championship IM Basket 24K gold plated shirt he supposedly one, he's all about talking everything up. Mr. Arrogant i guess you could call him.

I love all of the excuses you make for your mediocre program, and mediocre coach, playing in a below mediocre conference. Whatever helps you sleep at night. At least we can admit we were terrible at football before CMC got here. Now the future is bright for us, and you guys have the exact same thing to look forward to, boring football.

Ferentz has been crushing it the last 5 years. In those 5 years Iowa has a 24-1 record vs non bowl teams. Against bowl eligible teams Iowa is 23-18. That is how I spelled out earlier in this thread how teams get to 9 wins.

To demonstrate how good 9 wins per year is, CMC would have to have two consecutive 11 win season to get to a 9+ win per year average. That is after winning 23 games over the last 3 years. It feels like some ISU fans think that 7.66 wins per year over 3 years is close to what Iowa has done over the last 5 years, but it isn't even close at all. The only P5 teams with more wins than Iowa over the last 5 years are (Clemson, Bama, OSU, OU, LSU, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Penn St.)

Wasn't in less than 5 years ago Iowa got beat by an FCS team and blown out in a bowl game in the same season?

Yeah, that is all included. The NDSU loss is Iowa's only loss to a non bowl team in the past 5 years. Maybe I missed another one, but I don't think so.

Sounds like Beau Stephens committed to Iowa. Offensive lineman with offers from LSU, Michigan, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and a whole bunch of others.

Iowa is killing it on the recruiting trail right now! That is a huge get betting out LSU and Michigan.

Every non ESPN writer uses Sagarin. Williams uses it, you know the guy you generate revenue for?

Seems like you and I aren't generating enough revenue for them, as they are going the patreon route.

I'm glad you have admitted that you just cherry picked Sagarin tho, that is a good first step.

I'm guessing ad revenue is extremely low right now

I didn't cherry pick anything. I've always used Sagarin and did in 2017 when it said Iowa had a tougher schedule than Iowa State

I think he does.
For him to get there he is how the math works out(i am using wiki) as the source for his numbers to date. If he coaches three more years and qualified for a bowl game every year and every season had 12 regular plus 1 bowl game that would be 65 games. He would need to have three 10 win years in a row. If he went 5 years he would he would have to win better than 68% to get to .600. Would you want him around for five years?

It doesn't matter why you have cherry picked Sagarin, be that ignorance or because you trust Iowa bloggers so much. The fact remains that the majority of the 5 BCS computer metrics that were used back in the day say Iowa played a tougher schedule, and that includes your cherry picked Sagarin metric.
