In terms of being down on ISU, this post is worse than anything from those “hating” Prohm.

this is dumb swarthy. You’re agenda is pretty clear. Just because you are not a stupid **** like Jeremy, doesn’t mean you are deep.

It’s still incomprehensible to me how a brilliant intellect like you is not winning national championships, in multiple sports.

how have all these guys missed you?

But not in Hilton. See, it's easy to pin prick things when you are a pin p****. We went from last to winning the conference tourney.....in one year....with a completely changed roster. That's coaching. Should he be questioned for some of the things he did....absolutely. Just as CMC should be questioned why he passed 60 plus times against a team like OSU. But that doesn't mean they suck, or should be canned. But you can't be reasonable with unreasonable people. You can try....but it's like arguing with a pig that mud makes you dirty. They just smile and keep rolling in it.

It wasnt a completely changed roster, they brought back 4 of their best players from the 2017-18 team, along with 2 transfers and a couple freshman.

They would have actually brought back 5 players that played significant minutes on the 17-18 team but Solomon got hurt last year.

I hear raw 7 footer and all I can think of is the former T Rex Woodbury.

Foster can go to Iowa State and be molded into a potential NBA first rounder, or he can go the way of Fran and be molded into something quite different, good for two eye pokes a game.

Totally different styles. Woody was not as explosive of an athlete w/o the ability to shoot from outside. Fine for Big 10 Center to stand 3 Ft from the basket and stand tall but limited to one style.
Xavier is more of a rim runner in the mold of McKay or Conditt who has stretch 3 pt shooting potential. Prohm ideal skills set for his uptempo running style.

Claiming 8 of the 15best recruits is a very selective use of specific recruit ranking services and ignoring JC and transfer players. It doesn’t pass the smell test for long time ISU basketball fans.

Imagine being so against a coach you have to move goal posts like you guys do.

the best part about Iowa State winning, aside from us being good, is that none of the crew will be around.

You won't ever sway them. You can point out all the NBA players as well.

People are human and sometimes get things a little off? It's not meant to be a slight, but it has been a consistent thing throughout the expanded recruiting rankings era that impressive big men that are close to 7 foot and dominating in their frosh soph years of prep tend to stay towards the top even if their production doesn't increase. Again, not saying Foster isn't or can't be a great get, but you're belief that Meyers and Biancardi's rankings must be right because they do it for a living can be debunked by looking at even a Tyrese Haliburton type ranking..

I just find it funny that a layperson who has maybe watched him a handful of times says "Meh, I see him more of a 75-100 type guy". Again, based on what? Have you watched the other 74 guys in front of him? Have some guys that need moved up?

This is probably more a criticism of rankings than anything else.

He's an agile 6' 10" guy with good touch. Whether he's 50-75 or 75-100, I'll take him.

The year Prohm finishes 2nd was all Hoiberg players. Just saying. A last place finish should never happen even if it is a rebuilding year.

Where did Carter end up? Is he still playing college ball?
Huggy Bear at WVU just got last in the conference last year and he’s been coaching there a long while. It happens if your school isn’t named Kansas.

He is an ok recruiter? He has brought in 8 of the top 15 Recruits in ISU History, with 2 of them being in the top 3, and next week will likely have 3 of the top 5. If you want a bigger overall picture of his recruiting he has brought in 15 of the top 30 Recruits in ISU history. I would say he is a few levels above ok.
Hate the negative Prohm talk all the time. Yeah he might not be as dreamy as the old coach but the man can recruit and coach. He wants to be here and as long as he’s here he’s going to keep getting better. You hit the nail on the head on his recruiting.

You're right. There is no reason for you to believe me over what you read from the people whose job it is to do the rankings. However, having been through the ranking process myself and have been keeping up with it diligently since, I do feel I have a decent understanding of how the system works and how it plays out.

60th isn't much of a difference when talking about it compared to 75-100 in these rankings, so this is splitting haris. But based on his skillset I have watched and what he has produced in the statistics I have been able to find, it is my opinion that he has probably stayed closer to the top 50 because of his early successes. And I have stated as such the entire time ISU has been in on Xavier. It is not me saying there are "these 20 players" that should be ranked ahead of him. But rather compared to the level of recruit he would be in classes past, I would've tabbed him in that range.

But again, I am not saying this to discourage excitement of Xavier potentially committing or being a big contributor in his time at ISU (if he chooses the good guys), but rather to temper expectations of what he can do right away. I'll happily eat crow if he is putting up 15 and 7 his first year.

Yeah, Im a troll because I expect better results than 13-23 with "his guys" and 2 games under .500 in the Big 12 so far with all these top recruits and Hoibergs players.

Nice to know you expect mediocrity.

Grow up, all I do is present facts on these threads, and use those facts to back up my opinions that Prohm isnt quite getting it done here. Nice to know all you guys are fine with being under .500 in the Big 12.

I'm happy to see the dumb ratings that don't bother you, bother you.

Based on...what?

I can't imagine the Jerry Meyer or Paul Biancardi types care too much about where they previously had a kid ranked. They are putting together a list of the top 100 prospects. So I would venture to guess if he wasn't a top 75 type prospect, they wouldn't put in him in the Top 75.
They would hae

You think he should have been fired after last year, then?
