Any worries going forward only putting up 17 on a secondary without one awful and another terrible player which were replaced by even worse players? I’m pretty sure there were two walkons at safety for a handful of plays on one drive. Yikes

Looks like the holding call was bad, that sucks. ISU got to do the play over and couldn't convert. Then ISU was gifted 90 seconds to go 40 yards to win the game with a FG and blew it. If you want to remember this game as a screwjob, have at it, but the number of ISU self inflicted wounds is much more of a deciding factor than poor officiating, and thats what most people will remember about this game, not 1 phantom holding penalty during the longest game ever.

Randy is right for once

How were we gifted 90 seconds? From what I saw, our D gave us 90 seconds. You saying that the refs gave it to us? Typical hawk.

I remember when Rhoads couldn't recruit quality depth too. It sucked
Your D gave you 55 seconds by getting 3 stops. Iowa's asinine play call on 3rd down bumped it up to 90 seconds. So I guess I'm mistaken there - you weren't gifted 90 seconds, you were gifted an extra 35ish seconds and had plenty of time to go down the field.

This is so true. ISU played a ton of guys in the secondary all night last night.... going 2-3 deep on the depth chart. Probably shouldn't have played a few of them so much, but he was trying to keep guys fresh. Depth is nice to have.
Grabbing a fistfull of jersey isn’t holding these days? Interesting.
Actually no, that isn’t a style most of our players have. Also I’m not your bro.
I thought forward progress was stopped but it was questionable. Call didn't go our way, have to move on from it. Edit; And either way that play call is maddening. Iowa easily could have lost the game from that extra 35 seconds. Not gonna lie, I don’t know the exact rules, but I thought the refs could have kept the clock running after that 3rd down.
Yep and we got some good ones. Johnson and Eisworth and ridiculously talented
We're going to lose Eisworth after this year I'm afraid. He's just way too good to stick around IMO. Best player on the field last night.... not even close.
I didn’t see that. I’m sure there were several missed calls that favored Iowa, just like there were several missed calls that favored Iowa State. That’s kind of the point- any talk that the officiating had any influence on the outcome of the game is pure nonsense. There are missed calls on both sides in literally every game that has ever been played.
That dude can flat out tackle. He’s going to have a big year.
15 tackles on the night.... nobody else even close to that on either side. It was a defensive game, and he was the best defensive player on the field that night.
