Why didn't the Big 4 Classic work?

Lol, oh please dude, Ive lived in the most populated city in Iowa and one of the least populated counties in Iowa, so get off your high horse.
I wasn't the one on the high horse. I only brought up that Des Moines isn't the big deal you make it out to be because you were the one who were throwing shade at where everyone else lives.

You can only be a fan if you donate large sums of money huh? Good to know, besides how do you know much how much money Ive spent?
Lol!!! No wonder I couldnt get into C6 which was the furthest spot away from the arena, I didnt pay my 500 bucks to get the worst parking spot, so the ushers got mad at us and shuttled us over to B5 instead.
You're welcome.

Of course not, but you claim to be such a big, big fan that I would think you would donate some money to the school.

I know you don't donate enough to have a parking spot at Hilton and apparently don't have season tickets. What a fan!

Thats pretty pretentious to think everyone is so privelaged like you that they $1000 bucks laying around to donate for parking passes anyways. Thats downright elitist right there.

I disagree. There are tons of places to park down town DSM and then utilize the skywalks. I have real issues with how the parking lot is "utilized" up at Hilton.

Agreed.

A person really needs to expand their mind if they think a sea of parking leading to the front door of a building is a requirement to claim a place has superior available parking. Well....I guess it is OK for our Baby Boomer parents and grandparents, but the rest of should know better by now.

Oh come off it. You are on here pretending to be an Iowa State fan. We all know you are not an Iowa State fan.

There are plenty of people that can't donate and they are no more of a fan than the person that donates $20,000. But you aren't an Iowa State fan.

Parking is a lot worse right now with the stupid bridges closed and don't you have to pay for all parking meters on weekends now? If so, try to find a 10 hour meter anywhere near Wells Fargo.

Will you be attending the game Saturday?

Will you be attending the game Saturday?

Yep. As I have for all but one of the Big 4 classic games. I also went to the Bradley, Ohio State, and Creighton games in Des Moines.

I attend because I enjoy Iowa State basketball and I like to have another chance to see the team play in person. I also attend because for the last 4 years, I can get 3rd row, center court seats ;)

But Wells Fargo is an annoying place to watch basketball and is not nearly as nice as Hilton. First, it is a pain to get any sort of concessions. I sit in the section with the private concession area and I miss way to much of any game when I try and buy a drink or get something to eat. Second, while I enjoy cheering against Iowa in their game, I don't love being surrounded by crappy Iowa fans (much like yourself). Third, the price is high. I spend a lot of money on Iowa State athletics during a year. While $80 isn't crazy expensive, it would get me a game in Kansas City for the Big 12 tournament or possibly a ticket to a conference road game.

I will miss my annual good seats, but won't miss the whole thing next year. We have one of the best home courts in all of college basketball. I'd rather go watch a game in Hilton and have actual leg room.

I will agree navigation between the East Village and downtown is trickier, but I don't feel that affects parking to the arena. Grand Avenue is the closest bridge, and this has been re-open since this summer.

Yes, the meter charge now on weekends. That said, I've gone to many, many events at WF since it opened. I can recall maybe...maybe once parking on-street where there is a meter. It just isn't necessary. There are numerous other options between ramps, flat lots, and streets without meters.

So, when you played a 4th place Missouri Valley team in the Well at that point it was great but two Missouri Valley teams that you actually have history with, one of which consistently finishes 4th or higher, and it sucks?

Little revisionist history going on here...

What are you talking about? Are you saying I’m being “revisionist”?

Do you now have to feed the meters on weekends? Usually I'm at a hotel for HS tourneys so I just walked but may be heading down and just hitting up a few things.
