Ending Iowa's Dominance

How many from the Big10 West?
Since you asked, the Big 10 West has 115 guys on NFL rosters, an average of 16.4/team. The B12 has 155, an average of 15.5/team. So pretty even talent-wise overall. Specifically,
  • Iowa-27
  • Wisconsin-25
  • Nebraska- 22
  • Illinois- 15
  • Purdue- 10
  • Northwestern- 9
  • Minnesota- 7
In the B12:
  • Texas- 28
  • Oklahoma- 27
  • TCU- 16
  • WVU- 16
  • Ok State- 14
  • Tech- 13
  • KSU- 11
  • Baylor- 9
  • Kansas- 6
  • Iowa State- 5
Until Iowa State climbs that number significantly, it will be tough to claim "dominance".

I find it hard to believe Iowa has 27 players on a 53 man roster. For example Tevaun Smith is not on an active roster

You have this link saved to use for examples as to how great iowa is, don’t you?

The irony of all of this is that the initial post was from an Iowa troll

Haven't been keeping up with this thread. Have the Hok trolls come up with someone beside Anthony Nelson, or is that still pretty much it?

TIA

It was the first response when I Googled "NFL players by College". I don't give a **** about trolls and won't go on Rivals board. What I do dislike is people that just throw BS out there with no facts. Especially when they use it as an excuse. That's why I try to respond with facts easily found with a little effort. The old scheduling thing really bugs me. We're in the B12. Hopefully, we will be for a long time. Last year, we had a decent team and won 5 games in the B12. Very close to a couple others. No reason we can't do it again. Why does anyone care about Iowa's division? It has nothing to do with our success.

Why are you just cherry picking those position groups? ISU seems to be fine at those groups for the most part. You cant sit here and tell me that there arent Iowa guys on the Hawkeyes roster that would help ISU at TE, OL and DB.

Hockensen would help and may start. Render, Wirfs, Reyonlds and the Paulsen boys would all be in the 2 deeps at ISU on the OL with probably 4 of them starting. Iowa has consistently churned out safeties from instate that are pretty dang good players (Pagel, Sash, Greenwood, Snyder, Gervase).

No argument from me considering iirc ISU recruited every single one of these guys.

The Paulsen's aren't starters at Iowa

Gervase briefly had his scholarship pulled, multiple Iowa fans have told me he will be benched by the end of the year for some Stone guy and Snyder got voted off the team by his teammates. Cmon man

Well Stone played one snap against ISU and Gervase played 59 and graded out decent with PFF. Unless Gervase starts to struggle, Stone isnt going to replace him.

Snyder screwed up a couple times but he was a decent S for Iowa prior to his injuries. If he was 100% healthy, he would start for ISU this season.

I don't think Gervase is very good. There was a reason he was losing his scholarship this summer until one opened back up

Didn't he start all or most of last year? I remember he did against us. I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a guy go from being on the two deeps one year to having a scholarship pulled the next unless there were legal issues involved. I mean never. Not here, at Iowa, at LSU... Anywhere.
