After a year at Truman State Jeff Horner should be ready to take over. Continue getting those Hawkeye fans to come play ball for Iowa.
Funny, I was just thinking Horner will be the target once Fran moves on. Legacy who is gaining experience in the midwest and making AAU connections. Would be pretty cheap hire to offset the payout and excite the fans to help stimulate the malaise the fans currently have. Horner isn't ready and I doubt he will be in 2 years but there isn't going to be a lot of interest from established coachs for a bottom 1/3rd Big 10 program. The next Iowa coach will be from a Mid Major, (like Fran from Siena).
The hawkeye hate is strong here. I understand it because you are ISU fans, but it sure is strong. Hard to even have a civil discussion without bashing of players, former players, coaches, and their families. Why is that the case. I am being serious.
The last time an instate school went the no experience but a former player route it turned out pretty well I would say.
KU, although they won't likely admit it. Sans this year, we've been their biggest thorn.

This is correct. Their biggest rival is still MU but since they left it is KState.
Saying KU and ISU are rivals is like saying Iowa and Nebraska are rivals. There has to be two sides to it.
Iowa and Nebraska are "protected rivals" due to geography. the trio of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa for basketball are more rivalry type games but Wisconsin and Minnesota were easier to sell than Wisconsin Nebraska or Minnesota Nebraska.

Because we don't like you. Or other belligerent Hawk fans and there are thousands and thousands of them. We think Iowa City is joke of city. We think the Big 10 is completely overrated and we are right. We've heard for years and years Iowa is a big deal on the national landscape, which it is not, or even close. Because a vast majority of the fan base didn't even go to Iowa. Because black and gold look terrible together. Because you don't help farmers, we do. Because your coaches/AD are idiots and it is ridiculously easy to make fun of. And if you need more help understanding, read back through most of your posts.
If the big 10 invited ISU to come into the conference you would welcome it with open arms. Just like Nebraska did.
