This would actually be a really good hire.
Agreed. He learned his lesson at Iowa State and has adjusted his style of play. With that being said i can't see Greg taking a step down.

Hes got a ways to go defensively. I think he is decent offensively but he needs to it against the best of the best now.
If I am being honest. Iowa is going to bottom out. Fran will leave. We will go with the transfer market but will hire a coach no one wants.
Unfortunately it will be a lateral or step down for most coaches at this point. Iowa cant shell out the money and keep with having to pay out the stupid contract barta signed.Agreed. He has a job that I wouldn't leave. Similar to Marshall at Wichita State. You can get paid well, play in a good league and if you do well you can be there for your career. You don't have the oversized expectations of a bigger school that would come calling.Agreed. He learned his lesson at Iowa State and has adjusted his style of play. I will sulk if Iowa makes the NIT and Fran is back and Patrick is the only good recruit we have. He actually looks really good for D1 Minnesota, but Him and Weiskamp are not program saviors.
So you're telling me Pitino is bringing his talents to Iowa City?!?!?

I agree with you here, much to the dismay of some other ISU fans here, I think both of them will be good. I think they're both going to need some extra hamburgers and fries with time in the weight room before they become high impact players.
I get the Marshall comparison but the thing with him is money. He has a giant contract. He has a job that I wouldn't leave. Similar to Marshall at Wichita State. Nevada is going to be stacked this year and an Elite 8 Final 4 run can happen. I think Musselman has set himself up for a giant job next year.Guys at smaller schools that I would look at if I were Iowa and they fire Fran.
T.J. Otzelberger
Joe Dooley
Eric Mussleman
Leon Rice
Levelle Moton

I could see a school like Maryland moving on. That would be a great fit.Lol Mussleman wouldn't even consider Iowa
As soon as I read that Iowa is starting to recruit a 250ish rated PG with no big P5 offers yesterday I came to the realization that Iowa is not getting Terry or Carton. So I have no confidence we will have the player needed to help Weiskamp or Patrick. Connor can run the offense but he is not the game changing PG we need.

I dunno. If Wojo doesn't do much this year, I would think Marquette's first phone call should be TJ. He would be a slam dunk there.I'd be so freakin' pissed for multiple reasons if TJ went to Iowa.
