Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

This includes the big 8 teams genious
Note: when being an ass and calling someone genius, try and spell it correctly next time.

So dip **** how many more opportunities (teams) has the big ten collectively had vs the big 8/12 over all those years?

The Big 8/12 has had 1 more team than the B1G for a period of what, close to 20 years out of all that? And now the B1G has 4 more chances.

That's actually been the complaint that I've seen about him....doesn't play hard.

Hope your analysis is true...
I think that is mostly old news. When I saw him play last year he was a beast on D. Hard to imagine a guy getting so many steals being terribly lazy.

How? I am echoing how ISU fans feel. I am also stating a lot of facts that get ignored. Must not like the truth around here.
It's not that, I just don't like ******* idiots who think they are echoing what they think we feel. You have no clue, you will never have a clue, now go **** off

A case can be made for Webber, Kruger, and maybe Beard as I do not know a lot about the guy. Smart has kinda underwhelmed at Texas.

Notice that I think Prohm is better at the moment.

Huggins, Self, Drew are excellent coaches and recruiters

Dixon is just a good coach.

Boynton I also have no clue about

I listed Webber and Kruger because they couldnt stand it in the Big 10.

He got let go from Illinois because they were not beating teams like Iowa consistently anymore. He was good with Self recruits..... He is a good coach but not a guy that churns out top teams consistently is all I am saying. He was bad his last few years at Illinois and that is what I remember.

Weber's W/L his last 4 seasons at Illinois:
24-10
21-15
20-14
17-15
The first three of those seasons, he won 60% of his games. The last season was no great thing, but to say his record was bad is simply not accurate.

Apparently he hasn't impressed with his "intensity" at the AAU tourney where Terry and Patrick Mccaffery are playing at....walking up the floor once they got down. Coach actually called a TO to take him out.

Hard to fathom if true....kids sometimes do dumb things.

He did all of that without his players. Now is his time to shine.

I've got news for you - when a coaches assumes the leadership of a team, the men on the active roster become by default "his players". Even more defining is the fact that Prohm came in not knowing any of those guys, since he didn't personally recruit them, and won. I have to think that's probably a greater achievement than anything he has done. I know you don't follow ISU BB, but the feeling was that Prohm established a culture of hard work, hard practices, and following rules - most of which maybe didn't exist under Hoiberg. Prohm didn't have those guys' dedication for awhile (especially McKay), but eventually they realized he was trying to make them better players (and better men) and the results speak for themselves.
