Kruger "couldn't hack it in the Big 10" but he had more NCAA Tourney appearances and wins in 4 years in the Big 10 than Fran has in 8 years at Iowa. Lol!
He got let go from Illinois because they were not beating teams like Iowa consistently anymore. He was good with Self recruits..... He is a good coach but not a guy that churns out top teams consistently is all I am saying. He was bad his last few years at Illinois and that is what I remember.
Lets compare to someone way better than Francis

Tom Davis Iowa: 270–139 (.660) 126–104 (.547)

You realize Fran's best year (round of 32) is equal to one of Weber's worst years (2nd to last) at Illinois?

How do you confuse Lon Kruger with someone else? He's been coaching for an eternity and has been on TV a boatload.
My guess is you're thinking of Groce? He's the only coach who truly was a let down at Illinois. Even with their expectations watered down a bit.
Yes, I have already established that Fran needs to improve or leave. I am not happy with the results but Webber at Illinois was only good with Self recruits. He did not do better than the round of 32 with his own guys. So between him and Fran I would take Fran.
