But all of those major contributors were Fred’s players in the first 2 seasons.
The down year definitely wasn’t all his fault due to the roster Fred left him but it’s his job to rebuild it.
Except in Ia City where two in a row increases your buyout by millions. I wonder what three in a row will mean? Lifetime contract?Missing the tourney back to back years puts you on the hot seat at a basketball school. 3 in a row and you're gone
Its no secret that I'm a UNI guy and the future in Cedar Falls is incredibly bright for at least the next 4 years, but shouldn't it be concerning to Iowa fans that they're recruiting the same kids that UNI is?
UNI is good enough to beat Big Ten teams in one offs but there is no way that we could compete over a 20 game schedule.
Do you think Buddy still has a left one?Come on man, you'd give your left one to have Prohm's roster in IC next season.
And why is it so hard for you to see that it's questionable any of Iowa's players belong on a good, average, or even poor PAC 12 or BIG team. I'll give you that Pemsl, Dailey, Bohannon and company do flash the goods at times, which might at least appear to theoretically support the notion that if they fight and scratch and claw they can belong on an upper half of conference Power 5 squad if everything goes right, but to claim that they have already done this is certainly dubious at best...And even then, you're going to have a whole team of plucky role players who punch above their weight? Doesn't that sound a little mid-majory to you, too? No one denies that mid majors can flash at this level; You're paying good money for this! Is it not unthinkable someone else out there could give you more for less than Fran? If no, then... Well... Dang it, man that's the saddest thing in America.I get it you hate Iowa, but it is still possible that they improve. What if some of the talent for ISU flops? It happens in sports. and the Big Ten shows about the same on the national level as the Big 12 every single year. We are not like the PAC 12. One bad year does not mean the BIG is terrible. Just like one bad year does not mean ISU is terrible.
Yes, yes it is. And, fortunately, we don't have to rely mostly on coach's kid(s) and tie-ins with sons of fanatical fans as our means for recruiting and rebuilding. We are also open to taking a chance on Grad Transfers / Sit-outs to bolster our talent pool and competitiveness in practice.
And he has, with a single rebuild year.
Fran hasn't gone the transfer route regardless if his sons are on the teamFran on grad transfers, "And you have to be respectful of the guys you have. Because if you bring in a grad transfer he's got to play. "
My translation... can't cut in to my son's playing time.
I know, in the past it was a morality issue for Fran.Fran hasn't gone the transfer route regardless if his sons are on the team

He wasn't a grad transferYou mean besides the best player from the Fran era?
He wasn't a grad transfer
The Fran quote being discussed was about grad transfers I believe...Your post didn't say grad transfer.
It's a little early to say the rebuild has been completed, don't you think?
