I would agree with you if we had made it to the tourney this year. We need Wigginton back to make a run for the Tourney next season.Putting another player in the NBA is far from the worst thing that could happen.

I agree he has things to work on, but just to play devil's advocate, what's to stop him from deciding to work on those things while getting paid on an NBA bench or in the G League?Let me just say first and foremost that I love LW and think he is a great player.
However, to be fair, he is a point guard who loses the ball too often and commits too many turnovers. An NBA team might take a chance on him now, but if he wants to be successful at the next level in the long run he definitely needs to come back and work on his handles and decision making at the PG spot.
Because I think it is easier to stick on a team as a first rounder than to move from G League to a team's NBA roster.I agree he has things to work on, but just to play devil's advocate, what's to stop him from deciding to work on those things while getting paid on an NBA bench or in the G League?
The allure of a guaranteed contract if he is a 1st rounder. If he isnt basically a guaranteed 1st rounder, he should come back to school. A little more polish and I think he gets into the '19 1st round.I agree he has things to work on, but just to play devil's advocate, what's to stop him from deciding to work on those things while getting paid on an NBA bench or in the G League?
I think Wigginton will get some good feedback to see what NBA scouts want him to focus on and will be back for one more season. He is crazy skilled but takes too many hero ball shots and needs to show more PG skills in creating for teammates.
It was an all year problem, not just an end of year problem. He will get better. If his biggest problem is being too aggressive then he is doing great. Just needs a little better decision making. Overall he is a fantastic player who will likely be 1st team All Big 12 next year.I agree but to be fair to him he didn't have much help around him by the end of the year

His PER was bad even before NWB went out.His advanced stats were actually pretty strong/efficient until Babb went out. The last 9 games of the year he had 30 assists and 41 (!!!) turnovers and only one game shooting about 50% from the field
His PER was bad even before NWB went out.
His efficiency on offense was poor prior to NWB being out, too. His effective FG% was poor, despite shooting well on 3Ps. A lot of dribbling to get tough 2P FG attempts kills an offense.Well yeah his advanced defensive stats were awful all year long. We couldn't guard anyone

As good as he was for a freshman, he struggled in the best player role.
Perhaps if you only go by points per game.
You must have a generous grading scale otherwise his PER, effective FG%, and offensive rating were are bad for his usage before Babb went out. Certainly not “pretty strong/efficient”.His advanced offensive stats weren't poor before Babb went out. His PPG went up after Babb went out actually but his efficiency went down
This just feels to me like he is going to stay in the draft, not sure why, but it does. If he goes to the combine he's going to put up ridiculous numbers athletically, and shoots 40% from 3.
