***Big 10 Thread***

Iowa's starters are now beginning to cut into the lead with about 4 mins remaining against Purdue's 2nd and 3rd stringers.

And Purdue was even better last year than they are this year IMO, and we lost by 4 pts to them in the tourney. Take this year's Purdue team, and add Caleb Swanigan (one of the best players in the country last year), and you have the Purdue team we lost to by 4 pts last year.
Don't agree at all - Purdue is better this year. Carsen Edwards was a very good freshman guard last year, but he's one of the best players in the country this year. Vincent Edwards is better too.

Iowa won the second half! The PU reserves must have had 10 TOs in the last 10 minutes.

Fran's 12 man rotation finally wore Purdue out, and they had to sit their starters with 7 mins left in the game because they were so dead tired. At least Fran could try to spin it that way to convince Barta to keep him on board.

But they lost the best player in the country from last year's squad. I think they had more talent last year overall, but they seem to have better chemistry this year.

You could be right - people are picking them as a Final Four team. I don't know that I would take them over Villanova or Duke, but time will tell. I do think they're the best in the Big 10.

Here's the thing that should scare the crap out of hawk fans. They may think they have tons of talent, but they're not even in the same hemisphere as the rest of the Big 10 right now. They're getting housed by 20-30 EVERY GAME. Even the one they pulled off against Illinois, they were down 20.

What the hell happened to Minnesota? Didn't they start the year ranked?
Coffey was back today playing & they still got spanked. They were up 18-10 in the first half & then go absolutely pummeled after that. Prior to Lil Pitino being hired, I didn't have a feeling either way about Minny - pretty irrelevant. Now...I hope they continue to get pounded by other teams (with the possible exception of Iowa).

Apparently it takes at least a decade to build a “regional powerhouse “.

Purdue could hardly miss from long range today - they had FIVE different players MAKE at least three 3 pointers, including four of five starters (the fifth never attempted one).
