I’m at least honest enough to call a spade a spade. If this is all Wagner does, he is a recruiting miss. Fleming, Hutton are misses, Williams, and Dailey look like recruiting misses as well. Bowie, Holden, Ernst, Kasongo, and Carter are all misses as well.
Coaches miss on players. It just so happens that every last late signee/transfer that Phrom has gotten has been a miss so far.

They need a real mediocre(aka cheap) coach to get them through the black hole of talent they'll have for awhile. He'll throw enough temper tantrums to distract the media, and once they get some distance on this he'll be easy to fire. Perfect fit.
