OK - who wins the game on Sept. 9th ?

I found it. It's almost good enough to replace my current signature... almost.
Fine. I guess the other player is better. But at one thing. You can't be so dense that you don't se what I'm saying. I stand by what I said earlier in this thread which I think says it better. ISU will grow this year. By the time the DL gels at the end of the year we'd a 7 point neutral favorite against those guys out east. Iowa is holding onto their superiority as tightly as they can, and 50 runs this September will be the only way they can keep it going for one more year.

Several reasons.

1) ISU doesn't even use its TE. How many catches did ISU TE have last year?
2) Allen hasn't even played a snap
3) Fant showed last year that he can make plays
4) If you are looking at recruits pedigree, Iowa took Fant out of Nebraska and Nebraska really, really wanted Fant. That is just as good as Michigan needing a fallback TE so they offered Allen.
1. How many receiving threat TE's did ISU play last year? "ISU doesn't even use its TE," I guess we will see about that.
2. No he hasn't, but we both know he was going to play before his mishaps last fall.
3. 70 yards. Come on. He could be a good player, but that's not the way to go about explaining it.
4. This is the part where I know you are trolling. Not sure if you know this, but Nebraska offered Allen was well.

Both look like good prospects, but of course it needs made into an argument about who is theoretically better.

I agree, I wouldn't consider the depth behind the starter when looking at QB talent. Park > Iowa QB (I think Iowa's QB will be good though and next year it will be a debate on who is better).

I will say that Iowa can withstand a QB injury though, as both are serviceable. ISU can't sustain an injury to Park. If he goes down, ISU can't even beat UNI or Kansas on their schedule.
Disagree. From all reports Nolan has over taken Kempt as has played very well. He could beat UNI and KU, That is an asinine statement.

Is Iowa State even a 7 point home favorite against UNI? Serious question, I have no idea.

Not many true Fr TE ever get to the field at Iowa. Fant did, and Fant was getting some snaps before Kittle went down to injury. Iowa's passing game was pathetic or Fant would have had even more catches.

If you wanna make a side bet, I will. Fant > Allen this year. Let me explain why this is a horrible bet for you to make on Allen.

1) Even if talented he is still seeing the field for the first time vs FBS talent
2) You don't even know how CMC will even use his TE
3) Fant is clearly Iowa's #1 TE now and that alone carries with it a bunch of opportunities, being on the field a ton and a lot of pass catching opportunities.

I will make this bet, it is a no brainer for me, on the other hand you might wanna think long and hard about it.

I was also told that Lanning was the second coming at QB and was as talented as CJ Beathard at QB last year. I was also told tha Richardson, Barnett, Jantz were excellent QB's. So I will take the backup QB impressing reports with a grain of salt.

I'm expecting a carbon copy of the 2013 game when the Cyclones wore the Jack Trice throwbacks. Score will be close in the end, but Iowa will just run ISU over and control time of possession. I expect Iowa to run the ball 50+ times with ease.

ISU could win if Iowa turns the ball over 3+ times or if there are a lot of holding penalties called.

The Big 12 has no talent on defense not because the offenses score a lot but because they actually have no talent on defense. The NFL agrees with that.
So does the big tin have no talent on offense?

I can admit the Big 12 has been down the last couple of years. That has been easy to see. Doesn't mean it has been that way for a long time. Conference strength goes up and down. the big tin was up last year after being down for a while. I would say the SEC is down and has been the last couple years. The ACC has been up and th eBig 12 has been down. Hard to guage the PAC

But intellectually challenged people use the draft instead of actual roster numbers. Not everyone drafted makes a roster or sticks with a team. Roster numbers show the big tin has three more per team than the Big 12. You can thank Texas, iSu and Kansas for that. Texas simply should have more getting drafted each year and once they rise back up it will level things out. iSu has failed miserably getting players drafted as has Kansas

Whoever said that was an idiot. Lanning can be and would be very successful in a KSU type spread offense. But he can't pass worth a crap.

With that said...Lanning could beat UNI and KU this year. Your statement was and still is asinine.

Do you honestly think I would make a bet with an anonymous message board troll? No.

If Fant has more catches/yards than Chase, that won't surprise me. ISU has way more mouths to feed for receptions than Iowa. I don't necessarily think that means Fant>Allen and I don't see how you can justify calling Fant better right now. There literally is no proof.

The Big12 is an offensive league, so yes defensive numbers are scenes some because of it. Same for BigTen offensive numbers.

The problems is when you got so many Clone trolls saying that Big12 is better defensive because of 5 games last year, you get Hawks fans replying in kind.

Intellectually honest people like you and me know what you are saying is true. But even thought the numbers are scewed the Big12 still isn't a good defensive league and the BigTen still isn't a good offensive league.

Why was iowa's passing game pathetic? They had the country's best OL and an NFL QB? And apparently they had the second coming of Dallas Clark as as second string TE.

How could their passing game be so pathetic?

Allen should have it easy...he plays in the no defense league...remember?

Not a troll. Iowa has a ton of question marks going into this season and just lost to an FCS team last season

LOL, Iowa State loses FCS teams every season.

Iowa has never lost to UNI.

Honest question- does anyone have tape of Lanning playing MLB in high school? Having a hard time finding some.
