Random Thoughts X (The 9th Regeneration)

Survived the hardest Relay yet.
Went into this thing with a terrible plan that I couldn't talk people out of.
My part of the team just could not listen to reason or experience, so we suffered numerous injuries from noob decisions that just kept getting worse.

But, I was able to exercise multiple recovery plans and keep myself from getting hurt by these idiot noobs. I've got that going for me.

I notice that the team is talking about next year, but not talking to me. That will keep me from bothering to say no, as I have next year's team lined up already, and it's one I've had a tremendous experience with previously.

I don't want to dislike this post, but I do dislike much of it. Sorry to hear it was a somewhat frustrating group project (now you can tell your students, yes, you will have to do group projects in real life!). But glad you made it to the end and survived the heat.

Dinner was good today. Made rice with sweet corn and carne guisada (beef with red bell peppers in a tomato based sauce). Baby kept digging in the rice to find just the corn. The beef was good, although a tad spicy. Not too bad, just a little kick. The meat did turn out really tender.

My oldest had a friend come over for a play date today and baby GTO was just loving it trying to keep up with the big boys. Now trying to catch up on some work before tomorrow. Sorry to hear about all the hail for the Minnesotan RTT'ers.

Not somewhat frustrating. I thought of ditching them, calling a cab to Independence, and heading home. I'd had enough.

If I hadn't had an old Army buddy along, I wouldn't have bothered to finish. He made the whole thing manageable.

I'm doing some Kalua pig and sticky rice for our post season party in a few weeks. Should be good.

Also, I strangely didn't get any hail in uptown Minneapolis.

While in downtown Chi-town Saturday I got a picture of a film crew. The Rock was in town as he was filming scenes for an upcoming movie called Rampage.

Just curious will you cook the pig or is there a place in the cities that cooks Hawaiian? It sounds really good.

I should probably clarify my earlier post. We didn't get 10-12" of hail. The storm sewers were all plugged up by the storm debris and the streets flooded washing the hail down the street and leaving a bathtub of ice on that curve. It was washing over the curb, through my neighbor's yard and into the wetland behind his house.

Today it is foggy with the ice keeping the ground level air abnormally cool and adding to the humidity.
