Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

We're a pick em tomorrow with TCU, Vegas thinks TCU is much better than Iowa too. Advanced statistics show Iowa would be a 5 point underdog give or take a point on a neutral court against them

I'll put it in other terms for the naive here,.

I don't believe the gap between Iowa FB and ISU FB is all that great. Iowa is better yes but it isn't better to the degree most Iowa fans think it is.

The same is true for ISU BB vs Iowa BB.

DEMS THE FACTS
The words used in this post suggest that it is actually your opinion. Last I checked, an opinion isn't "dem facts".

Actually these are the facts. Maybe you should look at them instead of living in your alternative universe

TCU - 32nd on KenPom 33rd on Sagarin, RPI of 32
Iowa - 70th on KemPom, 74th on Sagarin, RPI of 112

Lol, yeah, TCU is rated that high because they have alot of wins. 13-3 in fact, anyway you cut it will lead to a high RPI. Still nobody has answered my question, was it the huge win over Washington, or the 2 wins over the bottom feeders of the Big 12 at home that leads you to believe they are suddenly final four material?

Ahh, I think I get how this works, lets hype up our next opponent as some great team in the event we lose down there. Got it!

Losing 3 out of 5 isnt considered a collapse when the team only finished 1 game above .500 for the season. 2 collapses, one of them was when his son was very ill.

So his monumentally poor in-game coaching suffered because of that?

Here are my predictions since we are comparing opponents then Im out on this subject until March.

Miami will be an NIT team

Tech will be a 7-9 seed in the tourney

TCU will go 7-11 in the Big 12, snatch 1 more road win against one of the Oklahoma schools, followed by 3 more home losses against Baylor, West Virginia, and either us or K-State.

So you're saying ISU beat an alright team in Miami that will be just outside the NCAA, TT is a repeat NCAA tourney team, and TCU is much improved from last year, which makes it a tough game tomorrow, which would be a nice win since two straight road wins is quite a nice thing for an ISU team that's just now getting some things figured out.

Ok then.

I don't know much about Iowa...looked like they have some athletes last night and Jok is a nice player. They could go on a huge winning streak for all I care...anything to make that loss look decent.

The predictions of what's to come for them reminds me of Steve Alford's years when one of his players talked about getting his family Final Four tickets in the preseason.

Surprised there's not more ranked teams from the B1G just from odds alone vs. # of teams...I suppose they beat each other up during the offseason, the shoes haven't been aligned with the court material, or something along those lines.

That wasn't even Iowa's best game this year. The Purdue, Michigan, and uni games were much better performances. That's how big the gap is this season.

Ha ha, coming in with Michigan and UNI is awful weak.

Did you notice they're terrible?

You're an idiot

Remember when Woody, Gessell, Clemons and Uthoff were sophs and we heard about what great things they were going to do over the next few years?

I think most people knew that Woody/Gesell had maxed out in AAU ball and Clemmons was never really going to be anything special. Uthoff had a nice stroke and could put up points in a hurry but his length and soft touch was his greatest attribute, not his athleticism. Good college players but definitely had their limitations. Iowa has upgraded their athleticism throughout the whole roster, plus Bohannon is bigger and a better shooter than Gesell ever was in game situations.

Bohannon is bigger than who?

So this is the thread that replaced the Iowa MBB recruiting thread for idiocy? I know the MBB thread got closed because it became an embarrassment to normal cyclone fans.......how long does this one last?

You're an idiot

Name calling, very classy. So maybe instead of ripping anybody who gives Iowa any credit answer my original question. What in TCU's schedule up until today makes you think they are a much better team than Iowa right now?

Here are their top wins.

Washington 9-9
UNLV 8-8
Oklahoma 6-9
Texas 7-9

Iowa's win over Michigan is better than anything TCU has right now.
