Explosive receivers don't get run down by linebackers.
How did he gain 36 yards on a little screen play if he's not explosive? I mean I know Mabin is bad but he's that bad?

Then why was he ranked so high out of High School if he's not an elite WR? Calling him a TE kind of doubles down on you not knowing what you're talking about here.
Woody was elite then, cuz he was a 5 star out of high school.

No he wasn't.
Lazard doesn't need his HS ranking to justify his talents, his production on the field does it for me.
Nice play call, he had great blocking, Mabin was blocked off before AL caught the ball, he had a nice lane and turned it upfield. If he was explosive he would've outran everyone. He didn't. He got run down from behind by a 235 lb. LB from Decorah. Not explosive.
Maybe one of these years he'll actually get into the end zone against our awful CBs.
He had 7 catches for 111 yards with terrible QB play. He's elite but he can't do it all

Most of which came on quick hitches, curls, screens, and much of which came when ISU was down by 28-35 points. Makes sense we'd offer up the short routes to avoid getting burned deep. If you call that explosive, whatever. But if you do then I'll call Vandeburg volcanic. AL had one downfield catch that was worth anything. Hindered by bad QB play and being the main focus of DCs? Sure. Hard to tell what he'd do with legit QB but getting run down from behind by a clunky B1G LB is pretty telling.
Lazard has played more than one game in his career and has made plenty plays that would be considered explosive. Yes Iowa was flying to the ball more so than they do for any other game and kept him out of the end zone. They were bringin the boom
Look at his TD catches from last year. Pretty much every one was him breaking tackles to get in the end zone or making a play to go up and get it. I mean he was All Big 12 as a 19 year old. Sky is the limit for him
Not elite by any means-good, yes. Tight end in nflLazard has played more than one game in his career and has made plenty plays that would be considered explosive. Yes Iowa was flying to the ball more so than they do for any other game and kept him out of the end zone. They were bringin the boom

Didn't want this to get lost in the explosiveness debate. It's no wonder we have an All-American corner, he gets matched up daily with the Meerkat. But FYI, that Vandenberg dude graduated. Our elite offensive weapon is VandeBerg, number 89 in your program, number one in our hearts. They face Vandenberg in practice daily, do there's at least one.

Still going huh?
Yeah I'll defend the Big 12 leading WR against people that don't understand what makes a WR good.
