Going to miss Dinglebury. From getting punked by Kane to the only 7 footer to get rejected by the rim. Not to mention the eye pokes and his T-Rex arms. :smile:

Maybe, maybe not. Lunardi's got them as a four seed in Des Moines for the time being. But if they keep playing like they have the last couple weeks then yeah, Des Moines is totally out of the question. I wouldn't necessarily call them frauds, but their best basketball of the season is far, far behind them. Peaked too early.

Why? I wouldn't blame any pollster dropping a non top 5 rated team that lost 3 straight to unranked teams including to PSU which is terrible even by Big 10 standards.

Exactly, and it's not like their RPI is much better than 26th anyways.

Palm has Iowa as a 5 seed in Des Moines with Duke as the 4 seed. That would be pretty cool.

Iowa's only win since early February was one they squeaked out against a Minnesota team with a 2-14 Big 10 record.

One thing you have to remember is that you have to find 24 better teams to put Iowa at a 7th seed. Most seasons, yes, a 7. Not this cluster of a year.

Pretty sure he goes straight off of his BPI rankings. Iowa is 18 but SMU and Louisville ahead of them and not eligible.

Seth Davis had Iowa at 9 last week, when he dropped them 5 spots for losing to PSU. To drop them more than 16 spots is incredibly Seth Davis (stupid). Iowa is still a Top 20 RPI team. I wouldn't fault anyone for dropping them big, but to but them anywhere outside of the Top 20 is just dumb. That would be like dropping ISU from top 10 to not top 25 for a home loss to Baylor and a road loss to KSU, and I know damn well you would be calling Seth Davis out if that happened.

Actually Iowa was #22 RPI before yesterday's loss.

I hated seeing this thread stay at the top of the unread posts list. Couldn't stand seeing "Iowa projected #1 seed" all the time. Was convinced that it was just a masterful troll job to keep this thread title visible on our site. Even sent a complaint to the mods.

With the post above, I have totally changed my perspective because the mods changed it to "Iowa definitely not a #1 seed." Now I love this thread!

Huh? What are you comparing that hypothetical too? Losing to PSU & WIsconsin?
