Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

If Iowa is in top 15 it's because they are confusing Iowa with ISU...seriously. They've lost 2 straight to unrsnked teams and lost 4 of 5...by end of conf season predicting Iowa won't be in top 30 RPI...ouch. And with a SOS hovering around 40th that has 7 seed written all over it.

This thread just gets better and better. With post #1731, the mods have made the thread title "Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed." Hilarious.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

Seth Davis had Iowa at 9 last week, when he dropped them 5 spots for losing to PSU. To drop them more than 16 spots is incredibly Seth Davis (stupid). Iowa is still a Top 20 RPI team. I wouldn't fault anyone for dropping them big, but to but them anywhere outside of the Top 20 is just dumb. That would be like dropping ISU from top 10 to not top 25 for a home loss to Baylor and a road loss to KSU, and I know damn well you would be calling Seth Davis out if that happened.

I agree with a lot of this but Baylor is way way better than anyone Iowa has lost to or beaten since Valentine's Day

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

One thing you have to remember is that you have to find 24 better teams to put Iowa at a 7th seed. Most seasons, yes, a 7. Not this cluster of a year.

If they keep trending in the direction they're headed right now, a seven seed might be generous by the time Selection Sunday rolls around.

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

A lot of us have compared Indiana to Texas Tech this season, is it better to compare Texas Tech to Iowa now?

Rarely listen to Brinson and Condon. I use to think Brinson was OK with Miller, but I can't stand that whiny little purple hawk Condon. However, it is fun to listen to him meltdown when the hawks suck.

I didn't even know they had a show. What shack are they broadcasting from?

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

Actually Iowa was #22 RPI before yesterday's loss.

And that includes a very inflated group of wins against severely damaged "quality teams"

Like the game time quality of MSU (2 lumps of sweet sweet cupcake frosting on a **** sandwich). Who should have lost to teams like Oakland. And WSU top 50 win that was missing more than half their team. Thank goodness they have no closers to close against ISU without our best shooter or we'd never hear the end of it. I really question wether they are top 25 Worthy, I'm not saying Seth doesn't troll, but It isn't an asinine stance. #22 with all kinds of tainted wins the facts are there to at least somewhat support his opinion.

I think they only have one top 50 win against teams that were healthy.

Lose out = Play In Game???? Just asking

I don't know if you're joking or not, but losing out is a distinct possibility for them. Indiana at home tomorrow and then on the road at Michigan where the Wolverines are on the bubble and in need of a win over a top 25 team. If they lose those two, would you have much confidence in their ability to beat anyone on a neutral floor??

So where does this thread end up after the hoks lose the next 3?

"Iowa MBB definitely not even a #5 seed"

Iowa MBB definitely not even a #7 seed"

"Iowa MBB earns a #2 seed in the NIT"

Re: Iowa MBB definitely not even a #3 seed

Iowa will make the tourney with 3 straight losses. Indiana at home and at Michigan would be not be terrible losses, not good losses but not awful, they already got the awful ones out of the way.

They might have a #7 vs# 10 loss to either NW or Nebby in them yet.(BTT)

It's pretty simple. Big 10 teams finally figured out what I've been saying since the first half of the Iowa vs. ISU game. “Shut down Utoff and Jok's threes and you win the game”. The cat is out of the bag.

I agree with this.

That's true now, but their whole team was playing way above their heads when they were rolling. You had to know guys like Baer and Uhl weren't going to keep shooting like they were.
