Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I never said anything about ISU's road losses. I just said ISU can't beat anyone worth anything on the road, which is true. They can't. Are you saying ISU deserves more credit for losing on the road against 1, 17, and 20 than Iowa deserves for winning on the road against MSU and Purdue?

Cannot wait for the Hawks to be the first #1 seed to lose to a 16 in the NCAA tournament...question is what round will hawk fans call it?

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

So we'll find out if Iowa can beat good teams when they play in their conference tournament against the same teams they've been beating by double digits? Makes sense.

I'm talking about Maryland. Does that make sense?

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

They beat Iowa. :jimlad:

Yeah that's a full 50% of their good wins right there. Also lost to a very average Mich team, lost to MSU when they were playing bad. Their only other top 50 RPI win is at home against an overrated Purdue team.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

How do we know Maryland is good?

Because they are the second rank team. There is only one team better than Maryland in all the land. Same reason we know Iowa is better than ISU.

That amazing Purdue team is only ranked 12 spots ahead of Kansas State. Can we call it a quality road win if you claim Purdue is?

Its pretty obvious a win at RPI #25 is infinitely better than a win at RPI #37...

That don't mean ****. Don't you know, the only thing that matters is the (hawk)eye test.

Where do you see this? Realtime has PU #22 and KSU #40. AP has PU #18 and KSU not even receiving votes. Even Kenpom has PU #16 and KSU #39.

I used ESPN's RPI rankings. Are we trying to split hairs? Not really sure what Purdue has done anyways that makes you think they are so much better than Kansas State.

And since the point was that ISU can't/hasn't beat good teams away from home, it's worth noting that Iowa's three best road wins came against #4, #15 and #16 (average of 11.67). Meanwhile, ISU's best three road wins came against #35, #39 and #54 (average of 42.67).

ISU's overall road wins look better on the average because their best wins so far are nothing special and they haven't had to play a team like Rutgers that brings the average way down.

Iowa didn't play Wichita State on the road and they were without Van Vleet

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Not interested in reading this thread, but I do get a little offended by seeing a thread title about EIU being a #1 seed every time I open the site. It makes me wonder if it isn't just a troll job to keep that headline on the first page of updated threads.

Will a mod please change the thread title? Something like "What will EIU's tournament seed be?" would be much less offensive.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Looks like Maryland plays Bowie State tonight. Should provide their toughest test since the non conference season.
