How long is our contract with Nike? I remember seeing someone post that we are one of the lowest paid teams in division 1...is this true? Would it be out of the question that the two "new" head coaches along with our AD would explore other opportunities for the future?

This era has been "killing it" as it has been killing many of my (and I am guessing others...) brain cells each Saturday as I (we) drink to forget that days events...
I think it would go up, especially wth how good our basketball is. I believe Nike would like to give us more money if basketball is still strong and football is improving. Underarmor and adidas make crappy uniforms.

I know I'm swimming against the stream but the power schools don't constantly change uniforms. Establish your identity and keep it as an identifiable and recognizable image to be proud of. People think the top recruits love the new uniforms - they don't. They want to play for a recognized power school.
Yeah but we aren't a recognized power school and probably never will be. And I disagree, a lot of recruits like having a variety of alternate uniforms.

ISU is not a power school. We will never be a power school. So it really doesn't matter what the power schools do.
Maybe it's a good idea to do things a little differently and get some attention that way. It honestly can't hurt.
JP and Rhoads wanted to establish a "brand" for ISU, but if you don't win, no one really pays attention.
We have some nice regular uniforms. It wouldn't hurt to have some fun alternate uniforms, which is what most of the talk in these threads is for, alternate uniforms. I think people freak out because they think everyone wants these off the wall base uniforms, when most would probably be just for alternates.
I haven't commented at all on the JT throwbacks. But I liked the idea of those, it's just the execution left a lot to be desired.
I do like them better than the Peach Bowl throwbacks, but just because those were ugly as sin.
Right, I'll admit I'm old but Oregon and Baylor were laughing stocks for decades. Oregon never had a 10 win season until 2000 and Iowa State has a winning record vs Baylor.
My only point is anybody who thinks fad uniforms are the key to recruiting hasn't looked at the recruiting rankings. Top 20 in recruiting this year...
Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi, Auburn, USC, Georgia, UCLA, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, aTm, Baylor, Stanford, Oklahoma, Michigan State.
The vast majority have had the same uniforms since I was a kid. Baylor is good because of the current coach - not magic fad uniforms. Iowa State has a winning record vs Baylor. I'm not opposed to changing the uniforms but anybody who thinks new uniforms are the key to winning is dreaming.
