This makes no sense. Shooting percentage in Jok's situation does tell the whole story so why even bring up Steph Curry's junior year numbers?

You're using more than just the shooting percentage to reach this conclusion. If you weren't, then I could have given you Curry's numbers in a blind comparison and you wouldn't have said that player was a significantly better shooter because you'd have no idea if Jok gets more open looks or not.

36% isn't elite in Jok's case because he isn't the primary focus of the defense and he gets quite a few open looks as a result of that. But just looking at 36% on the stat sheet doesn't tell you that, just like 38% on Curry's stat sheet doesn't tell you that he was an insanely good shooter who had to take a ton of tough shots and still converted at a solid clip.

Jok's numbers tell the whole story and there was no reason to even mention Steph Curry. I understand your theory but still have no idea why you even mentioned it considering it has nothing to do with Jok's situation. No one was discrediting Steph Curry's junior year

Larry Bird once shot 21% from 3 for an entire year. Please discuss how that translates to Jok's career. Thanks.

Oh there's lots of reasons to mention Steph curry. Just never in the same breath as Peter Jok.

Did I say they were? I chose Curry because he's widely considered the best shooter on the planet and he happened to have a season with a very similar 3pt shooting percentage. If 38% can be elite, so can 36%. I'm not arguing that Jok is elite, but that it takes more than just saying he shoots 36% to prove that he isn't. Saying he shoots 36% despite getting a lot of good looks and not being the defense's primary focus does. 36% in a vacuum doesn't.

Considering I've specifically said on multiple occasions that Jok isn't anywhere near Curry's level, I'm really not sure what your point is, other than you want to continue behaving like a middle schooler.

Jok.isn't an elite shooter and is a career 35% shooter. We both agree. End of story.

P.S. Matt Thomas is better than him

Jok is a great player who is having a down year like Steph curry had, but he's not exactly Steph curry. But let me tell you why he's like Steph curry. But not exactly like Steph curry, but close.

Hold on, I'll get my middle school picture in my avatar here soon. Also, if you don't want to compare two players, STOP COMPARING THEM.

You really, really do suck at the whole reading comprehension thing. But that's okay. I'm sure you'll cover that once you hit eighth grade.

At least Twins could understand the point I was trying to make. It was never meant to be a direct comparison of Jok/Curry's abilities. But Curry's junior season DOES show that a shooting percentage around 37% doesn't tell you the whole story. There's a lot of other relevant information that doesn't show up on a stat sheet makes a big difference in defining a 37% shooter's true ability.

Just stop, you are making yourself look silly.

so Jok isn't curry - yet? He def could be tho, because he shot nearly the same percentage in his college career as curry did his Jr. Year.

You could work for the Sixers.

Arguing with a fool who is incapable of grasping even the most basic points in a discussion is definitely silly. I should know better, but sometimes I just can't help myself.
