Iowa/MSU

MSU also got burned in the 1st half by 22 points. Then they panicked and threw the ball away a dozen times. Uthoff can't make a three with a hand in his face. Joc is better. Stop both of them @ 3's and Iowa can't break 30 points in a half. How many second half points did Iowa score? 27? Give me one top ten team that Iowa beats that is 100% healthy and I will be a believer. Until then not so much. North Carolina - Marcus Paige, MSU - Valentine, ISU ect.
 
Like I've said before all a good team has to do to beat Iowa is stop Uthoff and Joc from making 3's. They can't break 30 points in a half otherwise. ISU did it second half. Surprised other teams like MSU hasn't figured it out yet.
 
The stats some of you dig up to convince yourselves that Iowa is bad
 
Uthoff is an NBAer? Not so much. The least amount of pressure at the 3 point line and he'll miss 9 of 10. Matt proved that. MSU proved that as well......it was just too late.

Mich St in a terrible stretch. Iowa mbb team curiously like the Iowa fb team. The "Fake ID" of mbb. Iowa beats two "top-5 teams" is how this plays into their rankings with Ken Pom and others.

these two wins heavily skew Iowa's rankings upward. Doesn't matter they were against the same team--Mich St, who almost lost to OAKLAND, a team who had two reject benchwarmer transfers from Iowa State also punking Mich St

Not sure what UNC and Marcus Paige have to do with this conversation.

Iowa just beat Top 5 MSU in the Breslin Center. Did you forget that?

Do you really think Izzo would rush Valentine back in mid January if he wasnt 100% of damn close to it?

I'm not making a direct comparison and calling Jok the second coming. But Steph Curry shot like 38% from behind the arc as a junior (he had a considerably better overall FG%, partly because Curry did more damage at the rim than Jok does). I'd argue Jok is more streaky than anything, but when he gets hot, he's as good as any shooter in the Big 10.

Teams game plan their whole defense around stopping Jok like they did with Curry. Iowa fans rag on Matt Thomas and praise Jok like he's an elite deep threat but Matt is a better shooter
