Michigan State vs. Iowa

number of division 1 teams in FB vs BB? Being 11th sure is better than you think it is.

No. 11 is awesome. I'd never deny that. However, a run to the final four for a random team is enough to get them into the top-10, even if they were only a fringe top-25 team prior to that. March Madness allows for greater fluidity there. It's not fair at all, probably

He has had down seasons, no doubt. You should know all about those. The point is that he has, five different times, led the Hawkeyes to Top-10 seasons. If that alone doesn't qualify as being a golden boy of a generation, then I'm sorry that I gave that label to Hoiberg as he certainly doesn't fit the mold. Ferentz is likely to surpass Hayden Fry's B1G coaching wins mark in the same amount of time, and we all know that Hayden was the Golden Boy. Add a Rose Bowl victory to Kirks resume and what you have is a lost argument.

If your Golden Boy was recognized nationally as one of the worst coaches in the entire country then I almost feel bad for you

Do you realize that that poll has the national champion at no. 18, and not care because the link settles the debate in your mind? Why would you give credence to a poll that takes place before the national tournament? Anyways, it's not like top 11 is bad, it's really good, I'm just saying that even Hoiberg's most success doesn't touch Ferentz's. I think it probably would have after this year, though

There is a reason they don't do an AP poll after the season. The tourney is a crapshoot.

Also, Duke was #4, what are you talking about?

Kirk Ferentz has a losing record against lowly Iowa State over 17 games

("Super Bowl" comments in 3... 2... 1...)

There are probably 10-fold more publications listing him as a top coach than there are ones listing him as among the worst. But anyways yeah bud, let's ignore the results on the field. That's effective!

Mr. Goldenboy had a bench-warmer in on the biggest play of his career?

Arguable as to whether that was the biggest play of his career. Michigan State is elite and we had a lead until there were 30 seconds remaining haha.. We are going to play in the Rose Bowl in a few weeks. I'm good!!!

Then why are you here? It just screams insecurity.

Right, let's just ignore the tournament that decides the national champion. And I don't know why you're bringing up Duke

Golden Boy can't win big games

That's one game out of the year.. And you're right that it does fuel 'Super Bowl' comments because ISU routinely loses to awful competition regardless of the outcome of the Iowa game, while Iowa has gone on to play in the Orange Bowl following an ISU loss.

You serious?

Michigan State is elite...when their QB can throw further than 10 yards downfield. Beating one ranked team and reaching the Rose Bowl sounds impossible, so you should definitely enjoy it while you can.

Oh hey 2002, good to see you again
