So you'll rather have Spack at Illinois St than Fleck who has established himself...at least..as a great recruiter?

I know we all have our opinions on what ISU needs...seems that half think we should try to get the best X and O guy we can and other half or so wants someone who is a stellar recruiter. Both would be best of both worlds but that doesn't happen at ISU. I do think the closest guy might be Fritz given he's a pretty good coach and has a lot of juco connections which does well for recruiting IMO.

Did I claim I would rather have Spack? One reason he may not be getting much consideration is that he's a defensive guy.

If today's Navy-Houston game is any indication how Navy's coach would fare against the spread teams of the Big 12, then I'll pass.

Houston is up 45-24, and Navy has no chance to make a game out of it because they don't really throw the ball. If we were to run the triple option in the Big 12, we had better hope we don't get down early because it's ballgame. And I'm not confident we can stop Big 12 offenses from scoring.

We are going to need a much more balanced attack. I agree we need to run more than pass, but we will need to have a passing game too if we ever need to come back in games.

In typical clonedude fashion, Navy just scored, including some nice throws. Failed on the onside, but they could still make a game of it.

Lazard would likely transfer to a FCS program so he wouldn't have to sit out a season and then test the NFL waters. No point in him sticking around at ISU and being primarily a decoy in KN's offense.

Comments on articles like that are always terrible. I would put no thoughts into them.

No one thinks that those comments are indicative of the total, overall fanbase attitude, however there are numerous other articles, blogs and websites that also show some fans' dissatisfaction with Fleck. Altogether it might be an indication of some WMU fan uneasiness with Fleck.

My top two guys are Fritz and Fleck
Both I think could recruit well to ISU, Western Michigan has a top 50 recruiting class right now. I think Fritz wpuld stick around longer, but Fleck has a way higher ceiling

It's a problem when the AD said the kids that committed here will have their offers still there.

That's not the AD's decision to make and he never should of committed to doing that.

Hate to say it, but I agree with Clonedude, the triple option would be hard for ISU to run with the current ISU players and would struggle to work against the speed defenses in the Big 12.

To this day, i'm still convinced Auburn told him to take this job, regardless of his results, he was gone. But he got recruits to come to Ames.
Didn't he have the #2 recruit in the nation on campus?
