No one is saying the backups are better. People are sick of seeing the same lack of production from Richardson. He has had moments where he looked like a legit quality quarterback. Unfortunately he has been average or worse for a majority of the time. It hasn't just been two games. He is a 5th year senior and should be producing a lot more now. The last two games there have been multiple times where recievers have been open and he had plenty of time to throw either didn't throw it or made a bad pass. He looks like he is afraid to make a decision. I would rather have Jantz in as quarterback. At least he was exciting to watch.Good lord, still reverting back to the idea that the backup is going to be better. Great plan there folks.

The backups may be worse but people are just sick and tired of the current product on the offensive side of the ball.
As much as I'd like to think a QB change would "fix" the offense, at this point I have to believe that crap offense is a systemic problem under Rhoads, for whatever reason, and there is little to no hope that a Rhoads team can achieve even an average offense.
Bingo.
Wait, you are sick and tired of bad play from a QB, but you think the solution would be to put in one of two guys who isn't even as good as the starter?
So how is your solution going to do anything to improve the product?
This is it people, live with it. If there was even a remote chance either of our back-ups were able to compete, we'd have heard about it like we have the previous years. The sooner everyone stops thinking the QB is the sole problem for all of our woes and the product on the field, the easier this season will go down for you.
Bingo.
Get the man a running game and watch his confidence and ability grow. Making a change now is not the answer.
Edit: offensive staff should pop in some Jim Harbaugh game film from SF and Michigan and look how he helps guys like Alex Smith and Rudock look halfway decent.
The lack of production is form the whole damn offense. No one is saying the backups are better. People are sick of seeing the same lack of production from Richardson. I put blame on the offensive coaching staff. Where is the short passing game? When our O-Line struggles to block for the longer routes, like they did in the 2nd half against Iowa, why didn't we go to some quick hitters and allow our receivers to make some plays with their legs. Why didn't we throw some screens or quick-outs on 1st down to get us some positive yardage? Why not put in Lanning for a couple plays to run the ball, or at least the Zone Read, just to show the D something different? When the offensive line is struggling, you can't continue to try to run the ball like we were and try to throw timing routes 15 yards down the field. I give Mangino an F for the 2nd half!
