JTS construction webcam?

I stopped for some posters at Jacobsen over lunch and swung thru.
The crew was tearing down wood temp railing and installing nice steel railing, there were a ton of people inside the building. Some restaurant equipment vans showed up as I was leaving.

Crane opening is now shut, so she's in there forever.

As I read through the recent posts about entry points for east, west and SEZ club areas, I thought about the annual threads on re-entry. Will people admitted with proper tickets to the SEZ club be able to leave it and travel east/west in the stadium area, and then back in to SEZ?
Haven't read anything about whether SEZ tickets will be different somehow from all the rest, so wondering whether you scan your ticket to get in the stadium and then just show it again to get into the SEZ?

Rep shot your way. *pew pew*

Baker has been pulling people from everywhere to finish. Heard many of the finishes haven't started. 30 days out. Might just be banter, but normally the tradesmen know.

How do you figure 30 days out? Seems to me like 52. I wouldn't get too worried about the % done on the spreadsheet. I've seen buildings on campus have lectures where they're technically not finished with the building. They'll get it done enough to work for the first game. It's not that difficult to bring in extra drywallers or electricians. The hard part is finished.

Right now, it is actually pretty difficult to bring in drywallers and electricians. There are not enough of the skilled trades out there for all of the work that is going on. However, a priority project like this, they will get this finished, it will just cost a pretty penny.

Going off the word of the boots on the ground is far more accurate than listening to the brass. I am a superintendent so I know what is and isn't hard to get done. Right not my Baker sup is begging for workers, and they're still running conduit in Jack Trice. 30 days came from the August 15th deadline, now that may be innacurate. I've heard the per diem for missing deadline is insane over there.

The problem with listening to the boots on the ground is determining if they actually know what the hell they are talking about. Some of them may, but my experience also tells me that a lot of them think they know what's going on. They don't have the big picture. In reality the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Beat me to it. :)

Does anyone now if/when they will be closing the gap that still exists between the old and new upper decks? When you drive by the stadium on University, you can clearly see the gap from top to bottom where the two deck structures meet. I'd estimate it's about 4-6 inches wide. I'm sure it's not big enough to create a safety issue, but it's plenty big for items to be dropped down below onto the concourse. I have to assume it will be filled/covered, but I would have expected this to be done by now.

It's probably low on the list. Just a matter of getting in and sealing it up. I'd imagine they are waiting as long as they can so that it doesn't get damaged by the workers and to get as much differential settlement out of the structures as they can.

By per diem you mean liquidated damages? Per diem would be the Contractor's Responsibility for their workers...not the University's.

If I remember correctly, the Liquidated Damages was $200,000 or something like that and didn't really matter how late they were cause they "couldn't put a value on lost profits". I'd have to reread the bid docs to confirm but it was something around those lines.

So, Tornado Sirens went off in the City of Ames yesterday afternoon and immediately as the City of Ames' sirens went off, Jack Trice's tornado siren/warning message came across the speakers.

Good to know that there isn't a delay in sirens between City of Ames and Jack Trice.

Maybe some kind of tarp?

There's a siren (with audio) between the 85E and S8 parking lots. Guessing that's what was heard.
