Rep shot your way. *pew pew*I stopped for some posters at Jacobsen over lunch and swung thru.
The crew was tearing down wood temp railing and installing nice steel railing, there were a ton of people inside the building. Some restaurant equipment vans showed up as I was leaving.
Crane opening is now shut, so she's in there forever.
Baker has been pulling people from everywhere to finish. Heard many of the finishes haven't started. 30 days out. Might just be banter, but normally the tradesmen know.
Right now, it is actually pretty difficult to bring in drywallers and electricians. There are not enough of the skilled trades out there for all of the work that is going on. However, a priority project like this, they will get this finished, it will just cost a pretty penny. How do you figure 30 days out? Seems to me like 52. I wouldn't get too worried about the % done on the spreadsheet. I've seen buildings on campus have lectures where they're technically not finished with the building. They'll get it done enough to work for the first game. It's not that difficult to bring in extra drywallers or electricians. The hard part is finished.

Going off the word of the boots on the ground is far more accurate than listening to the brass. I am a superintendent so I know what is and isn't hard to get done. Right not my Baker sup is begging for workers, and they're still running conduit in Jack Trice. 30 days came from the August 15th deadline, now that may be innacurate. I've heard the per diem for missing deadline is insane over there.

Does anyone now if/when they will be closing the gap that still exists between the old and new upper decks? When you drive by the stadium on University, you can clearly see the gap from top to bottom where the two deck structures meet. I'd estimate it's about 4-6 inches wide. I'm sure it's not big enough to create a safety issue, but it's plenty big for items to be dropped down below onto the concourse. I have to assume it will be filled/covered, but I would have expected this to be done by now.

So, Tornado Sirens went off in the City of Ames yesterday afternoon and immediately as the City of Ames' sirens went off, Jack Trice's tornado siren/warning message came across the speakers.
