Hornacek was my number 1 and Otz my number 2. But I said that if we were denied by one or the other first, then the other should be the only choice.

What article is he referring to? Is he saying that the "no interest" part is wrong?

I didn't say I knew who would get the job (that clearly hasn't been decided), but I know there are some other candidates that it would be best not to openly discuss if we want to have a chance to make any progress with them. Once their names get out, the pressure starts to mount for them to withdraw their name (i.e. Fred's situation over the years). If it makes you feel better, I won't confirm or deny who they are after the fact.

He responded to Chris W's article he basically is saying that he may have interest, but he is under contract. Phoenix has to give ISU permission to speak to him, and they did not. Who knows his agenda, he is an agent, I am sure he would like JH to interview to at a minimum leverage Phoenix or a new deal.

Yeah, could be the agent doesn't want to lose their bargaining chip. Could be that we misunderstood the point. Could be something lost in translation from "the source". Could be that the call was an "at least we tried" call. Or, it could be the Hornacek camp wants full dental and Jamie won't go that far.
